COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Too much something. I don’t know if I got a bad bottle or if I just don’t like it. It had a caramel malty flavor and aroma, but there was too much bitter and an almost skunky flavor.

UPDATED: MAR 25, 2008 Pours clear & copper, with very uneven and bubbling head, foaming away in the glass, slowly disappearing as I drink. Aroma of fruit compote, & toffee, not unlike many good English ales. First flavor notes are malts & caramel, leading to a moderate, slightly roasts (yum!) Some sips include a slightly papery flavor. Bitterness of medium length. Hops are on the subdued side. Very similar in flavor to Rogue Dead Guy Ale. Good drinking, but no epiphanies.

UPDATED: FEB 14, 2008 Overall good beer - the aroma is fruity, the flavor yeast like and ending on a slightly bitter note. Much better altbier than Pinkus’. A good session beer, and at 5% you can session quite a bit. ON SECOND ANALYSIS: I like this stuff in session. A half yard filled with this stuff goes down very well. The malts really linger on the aftertaste - after the initial bitter goes away.

June 2006 - Thanks to eaglefan538 for sharing with me. This was an enjoyable amber. Nice head, even with only my 6 oz sample. Mouthfeel was thick and almost sticky. Flavor was sweet malts, some nuttyness and some mild european type bittering hops in the end. Complex and enjoyable.

Nothing special. Taste like beer. Good beer to give to your guests, right price, neutral taste, liked by most.

Pours a nice bright amber color with a creamy medium size head. Great aroma of caramel and light hops. Sweet malty taste, with nicely balanced malt flavors. A good solid amber.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2008 Selected this on tap at a theater pub. Not a lot of choices and I’ve seen this rated well by others. Nice full taste for an amber. Well balanced, nice 3/4 inch head, good lacings. Enjoyed the beer and the movie. Recommended. Update: Have had a few bottles since and must up-rate this some. Nice amber.

I find this to be a very nice amber ale. Always pleasing and consistent. This is my go to beer when I am in a place that has a lot of other crap on tap. A healthy maltiness, with lots of caramel and just a bit of a hop bite in the finish.
