COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

On tap at some pizza place in LBC. Dude who sold me it described it as a ’dark beer’ and looked at me like I was a martian when I asked him who the brewer was.

8/15/07 From the bottle. Aroma is a light malty sweetness forward, with citrus, apple, slight graininess and caramel. Appearance is medium amber with a good off-white head. Flavor is malt sweetness forward with medium bittering balance, sourness, caramel, and light roast. The flavors do not blend all that well, which is too bad because there’s good complexity here. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium/low carb feel and a very dry finish. Overall, not bad, but it’s a little too dry to have more than one, and not bitter enough for a northern german altbier.

#900! And while this may not be the most exciting beer. Nor does it have extremely high gravity or a vintage dating, I have been looking forward to trying this beer for some time now. Honey amber hued. Tight ring of off-white head. Red fruity notes wrapped up in a caramel bready aroma. Medium bodied with wonderfully sweet smooth malts. Mild bitterness and a moderately long tingling finish. Really nice citrus and berry acidity. Grapefruity undertones in the finish. Wonderful opportunity to try this beer! Great milestone!

Smells of malts and caramel, quite sweet; a very pleasant aroma. Taste is very smooth, strong taste of caramel that lingers. A very tasty beer indeed.

On draft at The Garage in Seattle. Pour is clear copper with a nice off white head. Aroma is sweet malt. Taste is more of the sweetness, with a nice full palate. Nothing really jumps out on this one, but it is a nice smooth, very drinkable beer. I was quite surprised to see this listed as Altbier, rather than Amber Ale. I guess it is the lagering that made this so drinkable.
