Pours a translucent amber with an average creamy off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of malty sweetness, some nuts, clean, some caramel. Flavors of the same...reminded me of Yeungling Lager...but better.

tastes very thin to me. i get the same feeling while drinking this that i get when drinking a newcastle. i wasn’t very impressed. maybe it will introduce a larger audience to amber ales though. you can find it in grocery stores.

Had at jacks in San fransisco fishermans warf area. Poured a clear amber ruby red with creamy white head. Aroma pretty malty and sweet with slight citric hop undertone. Flavor is very smooth, a bit creamy, and watery with slight citric hop. Refreshing, but nothing outstanding.

A great change from the usual stuff. The aroma was light with some hints of toasted malt. The flavor was the best part although it died off pretty fast. It tasted malty with some nut flavoring. Definitley more body and flavor than most ambers I’ve had.

7/01/2007: According to the label, Alaskan Amber is an "Alt Style Beer". The color of this beer is clear amber with a golden hue. The carbonation is lively, but there is only a thin, quickly dissipating head on the surface. Toasted grains, caramel malt, and some hints of darker roasted malts can be found in the aroma. It smells and tastes strong like an altbier, but not in an alcoholic kind of way; it is more of a deep maltiness. The flavor is roasty caramel malts with some darker malt flavor hiding in the background. The finish is short and dry, but has some butter toffee flavor to it. The overall flavor of this beer is somewhat sweet with just a little bit of bitterness to create a balanced flavor. This beer has a medium body and an average palate. Overall this is a pretty good beer. It is better than most Amber Ales, but somewhat lacking as an Altbier...
12 oz bottle from Yonkers95. Thanks Bruce!

Bottle. Malty aroma. Caramel toffe, flavor, slight graininess, strong finish but poor aftertaste. Good, balanced flavor initially but dwindles over time.

Enjoyed this one. Nice amber. Not crazy exciting, but still worth trying. I had it bottled.

It is probably not fair for me to rate this beer, as I had it on draft at Bally’s Casino in Las Vegas after a day spent unsuccessfully at the blackjack table and having been drinking the free Miller Lites they bring to you. But I’m going to anyway. Poured an orangy color and seemed to have a taste of biscuits. Also a hoppy feel to it. Would like to try it again if i get a chance just to see if I did misjudge it.
