Had this beer also on Saturday and have had it many times before. Its an amber pour with a great flavor. Is not over powering but easy drinking.

Rated from notes taken on 7 April 2012 -- Pretty good aroma, appearance and mouthfeel. Taste almost seems like a combo of an American Amber and a German Alt. Interesting, drinks well.

Nice amber beer. Good appearance color. Real good overall with a good finish. A little lighter than I prefer.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
355ml bottle. Clear, amber colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Hoppy aroma, slightly fruity, hints of pine. Taste is hoppy, slightly fruity, piney, cautious caramel malty basis. An unspectacular beer for all-day use.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours half a finger of head on a clear dark straw colored body.
The aroma is grain, barnyard and old leather, in the best possible way. It has that "alt beer" smell.
The taste has a musty grain flavor, mild lemon bitterness and finishes on a slightly sweet note.
The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation.
It gets the "alt" style, but it’s not my favorite.

Mild aroma of malt. Dark amber colour, no head. A mild balanced taste I nuts and malt. A creamy feel no real palate.

My favorite from Alaskan, and a pretty solid example of an American Amber. The caramel malt is smooth on this, some toffee present as well. There is a good mouthfeel on this too, you know your drinking a red.
