3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap. It’s a clear amber colored beer with a dense minimal sized light beige head leaving lacings. The aroma is lightly fruity, with caramel and a faint roasted touch. It’s very soft and smooth on the palate, medium to full body. There’s some bitterness in the flavor, mostly towards the end, with caramel and some roasted hints. Long finish where the roasted malts are more evident than the caramel. Quite pleasant this one, and easy drinkable. 130819

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12 oz bottle. Pours brownish amber with medium head. Aroma is roasty semi sweet caramel malt. Taste is sweet toffee caramel malt. Just enough hops to notice. That said, the malt dominates here. Big sweet malty caramel notes dominate. You won’t confuse this for your garden variety amber. This is pretty standard fare in the northwest, you could easily do worse.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Appearance: 2" cream color head recedes slowly with no lacing. Color is deep amber and somewhat cloudy. Significant carbonation.
Aroma: some fruit (raisins, peaches), yeasty bread dough, fresh water, earthy hops
Mouthfeel: medium bodied & slightly sticky. Finish is a little wet.
Flavor: pick up a raisin-like flavor, along with some apple and peach flavors. There is also a sweet brown bread malt and some mild earthy hops in the finish.
Overall: Alaskan Amber is a very pleasant and drinkable alt style ale. It has some wine-like qualities due to the fruit flavors. Most excellent.

Solid beer all around. Nice malty flavor without being overbearing. Close to being too sour, but just where its good. Thick but watery.
