Delbomber (387), Philadelphia, USA Jan 20, 2002 Beautiful copper body beneath a thin, bone head, with an aroma highlighted by a roasty, dark-fruit scent supported by earthy hops. Crisp and refreshing, medium-bodied, touched by sweet maltiness that complements the burnt caramel, toffee, wheat, orange rind, mango and moderate hops flavors. Weak hop finish is a bit disappointing, with a characteristic corn sweetness found in most North American macros; otherwise rather enjoyable. Hard to believe this is my first new beer of 2002...thanks to Fishman for this one.
wcampbell (416), Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 27, 2008 Not much going on with this beer. Pretty weak malt flavor without any hops at all. Highly carbonated. Toasty rye bread taste dominates. Lightly sweet, without a trace of bitterness. Watery finish. Gurst (312), Ann Arbor, Wisconsin, USA Aug 25, 2008 Very malty. Toast, toffee, and a little caramel. Some fruitiness in the end. Not a whole lot of hops taste, but some light citrus maybe toward the back. Good, but unexciting. achtungpv (121), Buda, Texas, USA Aug 25, 2008 Reddish brown color. A bit sweet on top, no bitterness, and soft (no crispness). Good beer for having just one but too sweet for me to drink more in one sitting. dpjuart (549), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 19, 2008 22 oz. bomber, 8/11/08 - Pour light red with orange/amber hues. Foamy white head. Good carb. Smells of apple and slight caramel. Taste is much the same, apple and caramel with mild hop bitter and crispness at the end. Maybe a touch of chocolate in there. Nothing special, but not bad. anders37 (2569), Malmö, Sweden Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Pour a clear amber color with a longlasting off-white head. Malty caramel aroma with some hoppy hints. Sweetish malty caramel flavor. Fruity malty caramel finish.
