Clear red orange color with thin lacing. Malty aroma with almost a bourbon aspect. Smooth and easy drinking with a medium lingering finish. Slight burn on the back of the palate. Jameson notes.

Clear amber with reddish tinge pour with small off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and hops. Taste of malts, toffee and faint hops on the finish. Light bodied, not overly sweet but became cloying on the finish, one was enough.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ronaldtheriot (778) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Alaskan Amber has a thin, khaki head, a semi-clear, bubbly, amber appearance, and basically no lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, caramel candy or toffee and brown bread crust. Taste is of those as well, and this beer has a mild underlying bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium and somewhat slick, and Alaskan Amber has a mostly dry, easy going and easy-drinking finish. Overall, this is really nice, and I rate it rather highly. RJT
2.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 driver76 (26) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 10, 2013
Disclaimer: Bottle was transported across the country by plane, then sat in the back of the fridge for nearly a year.
Nose is thin with just a light malt character. Pours nice reddish copper with good head. Taste is very clean malt with very little hop character. Disappears quickly with a lingering sweetness. Very drinkable basic beer.

Bottle. Solid little amber here when you get it fresh. Toasty, caramel malt. Medium sweet, medium bitter.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 finn1918 (145) - Georgia, USA - MAY 6, 2013
On-tap. Pours a clear reddish-amber with a fluffy white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma is weakly caramel malts, maybe some hops. Taste follows, with a very subdued hop finish. This is virtually indistinguishable from pretty much every other "amber" out there. Refreshing and compliments a meal well, but not much there.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 22415brewery (313) - redmond, Washington, USA - APR 26, 2013
It’s suppose to be an Alt, yet it tastes like a low-hopped amber ale. Pours a light amber, very clear, with a minimal amount of quickly dissipating head. The aroma is fairly bland, slight medium caramel, some nuttiness, and a touch of fruitiness. Tastes a bit on the sweet side, flavors are a bit muddled and bland. Lifeless in character. No distinct hop characteristics, moderately bitter to counteract crystal-malt-like sweetness. No truly distinguishing characteristics. An average beer at best and below-average as a Northern German Altbier.

Sample at brewfest. Pours amberish, lots of caramel malts, that is it. Meh.
