3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 KyotoLefty (3480) - Kyoto, JAPAN - MAR 21, 2010
Bottle bought in CA. Orange-amber color. Low, fine head. Nutty, roasted aroma, rich but not fragrant. Fruity, quite sweet for alt, with a touch of citrus and a bit nutty. Sweet and sour finish, with roasted malt. Fruitier than your average alt, though otherwise a pretty straightforward interpretation of the style. Light and refreshing, flavorful and very well done, but lacking the depth and complexity of the fresh Dusseldorf alts.

Small amount of quick to disappear head. Beautiful amber coloring. You can taste the caramel. The malts are almost too much. Easy drinking, yet couldn’t have too many and certainly couldn’t drink quickly.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 jtclockwork (3433) - , New Jersey, USA - MAY 9, 2010
Dark amber pour in glass. Better than average for its beer class. A little malty. Rated 8/13/02
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 GT2 (3428) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 19, 2008
Pours a clear amber with a very small head. High carbonation. Aroma is pretty much nothing, maybe the smell leftover in the kitchen after throwing a kegger. The taste overall is very sweet but unrefined. I was disappointed by this. More than anything it reminded me of a Coors Light but darker to the eye. After trying the Alaskan Winter Ale I was pretty sure anything else from this brewery would be a step up...I was wrong.

A great summer drinking beer. I really liked the flavor and for a super hot day this was a great beer. The flavor and balance was great. I would drink another.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 kramer (3376) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 25, 2005
12 oz bottle. Poured a dark copper, thin off-white head, torrents of rising carbonation. Strong malty nose with perfumy hops in the background. Sweet caramel malt flavor with a lightly bitter finish. Very well balanced. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Very drinkable nicely balanced Alt. Good intro beer to those new to the sport.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 ante (3375) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2006
Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear reddish amber with a small white head. Toasted malts, caramel, grass and biscuit in aroma. Clean flavour of caramel, white bread and grass. Grassy aftertaste.
2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 jgb9348 (3369) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - JAN 17, 2009
Nice amber coloured body with a thinnish off-white head. Aroma of malt, a bit of hops, some subtle spices and not much really anything else. Medium-bodied; Malty taste along with some subtle hops, but mostly a cardboardy taste that doesn’t sit well. Aftertaste is short and not so sweet...malt and some hop bitterness, but not much. Overall, definitely a beer worth passing up, but as it was the first time I’ve ever seen it, I wanted to try it at least. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased at BevMo in San Diego (Caramel Mountain), California on 05-November-2006.
