COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Pours a three-finger white head which quickly fades and leaves no lace. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Nice clear, deep amber color. Nose is malty. Starts mellow and sweet, finishes smooth with a touch of hops. Very good Alt. $2.59 for a 12oz bottle from One Stop Oasis Las Vegas, NV.

Malt emphasis on the nose is almost raw like popping the can on a beer kit, while I find the sweetness on the palate a little too syrupy. I really don’t get the hop bitterness from the description more of a dry grainy toasiness that you get from a Marzen. Drinkable but too sweet for my taste. Would probably work well with Alaskan food.

UPDATED: AUG 19, 2004 Pours a copper color, with minimal head. Smells malty with a hint of hoppiness. Has a sour malty flavor. Has a lingering aftertaste that will not go away. I don't care for this too much.

UPDATED: FEB 24, 2008 Pours a thick amber brown, with a large tan head. Tastes were of malts, roastiness, caramels, and hazelnut. Light amount of hopiness to finish. One of my favorite brews. <P> Rerate 2/24/08: Draft: Pours golden with a large white head. Nose is malty and earthy, light florals and bits of toffee. Flavor is earthy and malty. Roasty tones and nuttiness. Still one of my go-to brews when the pickins are slim.
