2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 madvike (1295) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 17, 2011
Bottle - Pours clear dark reddish amber with a thick foamy off-white head. Aroma of rich bready malt with a hint of nuttiness and a touch of milkiness. Minimal herbal hopping. Not very pungent. Taste is a little limp. Mildly bready/nutty malt that fades in the middle, then comes back in the end to finish with dark bread and wood notes. Mild herbal hops note, and that milky, lightly sour taste is there too. Smooth and creamy, with sharp carbonation that masks the flavor a bit. The sourness threw me off, and really masked the malt base. A bit of a disappointment.

I’ve had an Alaskan amber shirt for almost 2 years now and I finally just now got to actually drink it. Obviously amber in color, moderately malty in aroma in taste, quite refreshing after a hard day fishing in Idaho.
3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 illidurit (1274) - Santa Cruz, California, USA - MAY 28, 2009
Pours a clear light copper color with a very wimpy beige head that fizzles into almost nothing within a minute of pouring. Nice full aroma despite the lack of head, with a big graham cracker character, Munich maltiness, and some honey. Flavor is very similar with additional accents of grassy hops, toffee, and even a touch of candied orange. A little light in body and carbonation. Very drinkable.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heykevin (1269) - Decorah, Iowa, USA - MAR 30, 2002
Light carbonation with a quickly receding head. Nice crispness from the alt yeast, and pretty clean tasting, but I get some pear and sour apple as well. Solid, but hop presence is average, as is the beer as a whole.
2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 OlJuntan64 (1266) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 14, 2006
nice light tawny cola colour with a fizzy tiny short lasting white head - nothing like the photo -might be off. Sweet caramel malt roast with light spice nose. medium light smooth palate consistent with altbier - if there is one in teh first place. Sweet medium intensity soft sweet caramel, low bitterness. Pleasant enough.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 turbo (1266) - Arizona, USA - JAN 14, 2005
Bottle poured a dark amber with a head that was gone in seconds.
Aroma of malts and spice.
Flavor is sweet and fruity.
Seems plain to me , not bad...whatever.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gregis (1250) - Shawnee, Kansas, USA - OCT 24, 2009
Pours a hazy dark tea with a small beige head that diminishes to a thin cap. The nose is of sweet, burnt sugar and dark bready malt notes. There is a slightly odd plastic/artificial note in there as well, but fortunately it fades with time as the beer warms. Light-bodied and assertively carbonated with a drying, mildly astringent finish. The flavor follows the nose after the aforementioned "off" note has faded. This is a solid session beer but not much more.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Lagunitasfan (1247) - San Diego, California, USA - MAY 5, 2010
22 oz bottle. This was one of my stepping-stone/gateway beers five years ago. My wife showed up with a sixer of this and it was good. Today’s rating is a 22. Copper pour with latte colored foam and lace. Nose is clear from three feet away. Super sweet malt, like a soda. Dried apricots and raisins. Tiniest hop bump to give the nose a bit of a bite. Only a tiny bit though. Taste is sweet malt, like medium brown sugar, and light fruit. Finish is more like lager.
