strong butterscotch aroma, followed by a butterscotch soda flavor. very sweet, but not fresh malt, and no notable hop character.

I was surprised I never rated this. So I purchased a 6-pack at Ralph’s in Riverside, CA. Pours a hazy copper color with a thin, lingering white head. Nice, sweet malty aroma. Some hoppiness as well. Nice, well-balanced flavor. Citrus notes, as well as some sweet hops. Seems to get stronger as you drink it. A good beer I wish we had back east.

This alt beer sets up with a deep amber color woth a medium head. It shows nice notes of sweet malt on the nose and then within the palate the malt brings some denseness along with the floral notes of the hops. It finishes with quite a blanced impression.

Coppery amber pour with a thin off-white head. Big malty aroma and taste ... earthy and rather rich for an amber. Very good.

UPDATED: AUG 5, 2005 Bottle: This is one of my everyday favorites. Although the picture shows it with a nice head, mine was missing. Lots of carbonation which made it crisp and refreshing. It is a medium copper color and clear. It has a mild wheat flavor which is what first caused me to like beer. Typically, I prefer a little bitterness and even though this isn’t too bitter, I still enjoy it very much.

Pours a light reddish-amber. Aroma is mild and hoppy. Flavor has a smooth, doughy maltiness and some light hops. A nice, easy drinkable beer.

I really want to like this beer, but is just too sweet for me. Good amber color in the glass with a nice head on it. The flavor is well balanced, it just finishes too sweet for me.

Draft at Billy’s Bar and Grille in Aberdeen, WA on 7/23/07. Clear deep copper with a creamy off white head . Molasses aroma, little in the way of hops in the aroma. Smooth medium body with a hint of stickiness. This is just a bit too sweet for me, and the finish reflects the malt dominance.
