COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Great for a beer that you can find almost anywhere in the NW. Nice amber color, thick, almost syruppy feel to it. A bit too sweet for my liking though.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2004 So smooth... I wasn't a fan of the style til I tried Alaskan. Nice malty brew. Great mouthfeel. Love the taste although a bit on the sweet side. Sweetness gets to you on your third pint. Nice to drink in a hot tub.

Bottle. Amber, cloudy. Nose is a bit funky and bitter. Taste is very bitter, some hoppy notes, a bit tart. Body is medium. Strange beer.

Copper colored with a thin white head. Sweet; toffee and malt aroma. Lightly sweet malts, light fruitiness. Crisp hops balance out the finish.

12oz bottle courtesy of Brad. This pours a dark amber with an off-white head. The nose is of malt, bread, spice and banana. Taste is of malt and spice. Very nice! Mouthfeel is watery with carbonation and slightly bitter.

Bottle at Johnny Mac’s Good Times Tavern, Rock Springs, WY. Nice concentrated (not overwhelming) nose: cherry skin, sweet malt, mild wheat. Flavors of the same, with a rather thick texture. Quite clean for a ’common’ beer.

Knocked back a few of these at the sports bar of the Seattle airport waiting for a connecting flight. Orangey Amber with a beige head. Fruity, caramel, decent feel. A bit sweet but really easy to quaff. Pity I was at the airport or else I’d have had several. But with SNPA on tap, this will have to wait till next time.
