COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Certainly enjoyable, but rather plain. For being billed as a mega-malty beer, this didn't meet expectations. It certainly went well with Thai food, although I don't think I'd seek it out. One thing I noticed is that each time, after tasting it and swallowing it, it developed this crescendo of, for lack of better words, an acidic burn that was somewhat citric in nature. Weird.

bottle. Pours a ruby colored amber with gray bubbly head. Very nice looking brew. Aroma of malts, slight fruitiness like cherry, subtle cheese, almost smells like a biere de garde or old ale. Taste is smooth, balanced, with a malt cherry like flavor on the finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth, creamy, sessionable. This is very good, exceeded my expectations.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a nice clear amber (of course) with a decent biege head. Aroma of sweet malt and caramel. Tastes very similar, very smooth, just a touch of hops. Good beer.

Too much something. I don’t know if I got a bad bottle or if I just don’t like it. It had a caramel malty flavor and aroma, but there was too much bitter and an almost skunky flavor.

Sits great on the palate. Looks nice and has a good boquet. A very decent all-around beer with no real outstanding qualities, but no really terrible qualities either. Pretty linear in character and a bit sweet but not bad.

delicious session brew for a great price. decent little hop profile, and nice cerealy and caramely malts, very light, almost a lager yest taste. good drinker and the price is right at 2.99 a bomber.

8/15/07 From the bottle. Aroma is a light malty sweetness forward, with citrus, apple, slight graininess and caramel. Appearance is medium amber with a good off-white head. Flavor is malt sweetness forward with medium bittering balance, sourness, caramel, and light roast. The flavors do not blend all that well, which is too bad because there’s good complexity here. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium/low carb feel and a very dry finish. Overall, not bad, but it’s a little too dry to have more than one, and not bitter enough for a northern german altbier.

On draft. One of my favorite alt beers. Amberish color. Very smooth and well balanced. Yes I’ll have another.
