3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - AUG 1, 2003
Calm malt aroma with metallic hop nose. Hazy amber appearance with normal head and lacing. Herbal hop flavor with citrus notes detectable. Easy drinking, slightly sour and bitter. Overall a good Altbier, but lacking a little hops that are common with these.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jerc (5444) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 19, 2004
Orange amber body with smallish off white head. Sweet slightly toasty caramel in the aroma. The flavour is likewise, with a sweet maltiness supporting the caramel. Very sweet but not cloyingly so. Light but very smooth mouthfeel. My Mom went to Alaska and all I got was this tasty beer! :)
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cornfield (5239) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - JUN 2, 2005
Copper-toned with a healthy white head, this is a fairly decent alt. The aroma is a toasty caramel with some earthy hopping - well balanced. Very lively in the mouth, it’s got a rich toasted malt flavor with mild hop bitterness and some peppery spiciness. It’s got a crisp, dry finish. Well done.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Ernest (5113) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUN 10, 2007
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2008 Bottle. Head is initially small, fizzy, off-white, fully diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (apricot), lightly yeasty (dough). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Fresher bottle (new to Colorado), but still very boring. Not much like a German altbier either. Terrible head character/retention.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 JPDIPSO (4957) - Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 17, 2004
Clear copper color with a moderate tan head. Sweet malt dominates the aroma. Hints of light fruit and mild hops. Light sweet pale malt dominate the tip of the palate. Light floral hops bitterness sweeps in quickly behind. Toffee take back the court in in the finish and shares it with some berries. A touch sweet for my kind of alt, but a very good brew non the less. Thanks to Faclonseye8 for setting me up with this one.
