3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BBB63 (4939) - La Porte, Indiana, USA - APR 11, 2004
Deep amber hue with fizzy off-white disappearing head and no lace. The aroma has a large sweet caramel tone along with hazelnut, buttered biscuit, floral hops, and barnyard yeast esters. The taste starts with a plum like fruity tone and those sweet malts detected on the nose. A nice bitterness shines through more towards the midsection. Nutty and sweet final finish. The mouthfeel is moderately full and lively. An above average Amber Ale. If you like caramel malts, you will like this beer. Thanks JSquire for the brew.

Bottle from my Secret Santa. Thanks! Copper-tinged red w/ a medium head. Biig malt aroma with spicy hops, dark fruits and toffee. Delicate tea and grain taste that finishes with a caramel sweetness. Subtle off flavors (ammonia, chlorine). Smooth, medium body.

Thanks for the bottle, Dansting. Dark copper body with a quickly dissapting khaki head. The aroma is rich with some chocolate, oranges and good bread. The taste is The taste is sweet with some caramel and iced tea. There is also some light chocolate. There gets to be a stronger cocoa note as you drink this. A nice chane of pace, but a little sweet for me.

Picked up single 12-oz bottle at John’s Marketplace in Portland, OR. Pours a clear coppery amber brew with a fast dissolving white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing and white ring. Aroma is very malty, sweet caramel malt, some fruity pears, and multi-grain biscuits. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a biscuity malt and flowery hop flavor. Finish has a good balance of malt and hop bitterness.

355ml bottle from the USA bar, Bières Sans Frontières. Shared with Finn H. Nice label design. Off-white, lacing-head. Clear, amber body. Smell of dried fruits. Jam-like flavour with apricot added by a malty touch. Quite well bodied and rounded on the swallow (GBBF, London 04.08.2009).

Draft. This is a very non-dememo beer. I'm not a big fan of the style, but this beer isn't overly flavorful, and fairly balanced - no strong hops or malt.
