COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The name of this beer style comes from the German word “alt” meaning “old”. This refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most ales. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors in Alaskan Amber, contributing to its overall balance and smoothness.

golden brown with a warm glow better.than amber color. nice frothy, long-lasting head. great malty taste with pleasantly, mild sweet aftertaste that lingers to the next sip. great to enjoy with all kinds of finger foods. I’m enjoying it with bbq ribs right now. hate to compare but better than fat tire.

Some caramelized malt and some light citrus. Pours golden with decent head and lacing. Light tangy finish. Some mash malt. Tap at Alaska Lodge at SEATAC.

Amber red with medium head. Smooth taste with caramel malt flavour. Like this interpretation of German Alt.

I am rating this as an Alt Bier per the bottle and Rate Beer. The aroma has more English caramel notes and less hops than a normal Alt. The hop aroma is not far but not quite the one of an Alt. The bitterness level is lower than an Alt and it has a caramelly sweet mid palate that is not appropriate for an Alt. The finish is not as dry or as hoppy as an Alt. Ok beer but not close to a Dusseldorf Alt.

pours amber with a thin tan head. Flavor and aroma are heavy malt. slight metallic aftertaste. Drinkable but not something I would get again.

I didn't take any extra notes when I tried this beer for the first time but I'm gonna try it again and update my comments. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml bottle from Lee’s discount liquor store Las Vegas. Red brown, good head. Malty toffee aroma. Caramel malt flavour. Sour aftertaste. Not good. Only chose it because I liked the artwork and have a matching glass.

Pours dark copper w/ a thin white head & not much lacing. The aroma is caramel & malt. The taste is clean & smooth. Not a ton going on flavor wise but nicely balanced & easy on the palate. Solid beer overall!

On tap @ The Hickory Lodge (Worthington, MN). Poured amber in color, clear, medium off white head, nice lacing. Aroma of malts and caramel combined with fruits. Taste is sweet and malty, nutty, and grain, some hops for good measure. Very easy to drink, quite enjoyable.
