COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2009 Nice amber. Very smooth, with a consistant character. Nice little aftertaste that I really enjoy. A solid brew that always pleases. Alcohol Content (ABV): 5% Calories: 180

On Tap- Served a clear amber color with a decent head and some lacing. Roasted grain & malt with a hint of sweetness. Light malt flavor with a slight sweetness that continues to a mild bitterness and a dry finish. Moderate body that is smooth and well balanced. Very enjoyable and good when having more than one. This is one of my go to beers when working in Alaska.

bottle. Pours a ruby colored amber with gray bubbly head. Very nice looking brew. Aroma of malts, slight fruitiness like cherry, subtle cheese, almost smells like a biere de garde or old ale. Taste is smooth, balanced, with a malt cherry like flavor on the finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth, creamy, sessionable. This is very good, exceeded my expectations.

A: Poured with a large, off-white, fizzy head that diminished to a size of about 1/4-finger, and stayed that way until she was all gone. S: Smells of average malt, kind of a cookie-like aroma. T: Mmmm, this is a sweet beer... starts with sweetness and ends with sweetness, with a faint touch of bitterness at the end as well. Average duration, goes down very smooth. M: Light-bodied and slightly creamy, with average carbonation. D: A very enjoyable altbier; don’t have too many experiences with the style right now to compare, but this was my third Alaskan Amber and I enjoy it every time. Extremely drinkable.

Pours a lovely amber with a solid head that has OK retention and delivers decent mouthfeel. It smells very malty with no hint of the hops. Has a lovely, smooth malty flavor. Little hop flavor.

A pretty nice little beer, pouring (of course) a rich amber and with s smallish, off-white head that didn’t last very long. Aroma is rather subdued, but the taste is mildly malty with some hop as well. Smooth and refreshing, I’d like more of these.

On tap at the Knitting Factory. Flavors of nut and roasted malt permeate this beautiful beer. Not bad at all. I used to not be a fan of this one. I guess my tastes are changing?

Bottle courtesy of mike67. Pours a deep amber with a mall offwhite head. Nose is malty caramel, hops. Taste is earthy hops, sweet malts, some yeast, and light sweet spices. Has a nice medium body, good carbonation. Finish is sweet malty caramel, good bittering hops and some light sweet spices. Overall a very nice enjoyable and well balance easy drinking brew.
