COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

Pours clear amber with a medium beige head, fine lasting lacing. Smells of caramel, bubblegum, banana and biscuit. Medium-thin body, smooth, mildly dry and crisp. Flavors of caramel, biscuit, apple, banana, citrus, with a slight mineral character. A light citrus and grass finish. Very drinkable.

Really pretty beer. Copper like a new penny. Smells malty/caramel - caramel really comes through the taste, quite sweet but not in the sense of candy, malt is forefront, pretty complex, really - think i taste some hazelnut or even oatmeal. Slightly bitter finish. Really a nice beer. I’ll admit to a slight bias due to the ’sense of place’ component - having comsumed dozens of these (only decent tap @ small town bar) on either end of a backcountry float I do in AK every year or two.

Pours translucent rich bright ruby with a creamy beige head. Aroma of citrus and caramel. Taste is a great balance of bread, sweet citrus and caramel again with very minmal husky grain bitterness. Incredibly smooth and easy to drink. Now I see why people always asked me for this so much when I worked at a beer store (not distributed to middle TN). It’s something main stream as far as taste but still appeals to people used to more flavor in beer.

Draught served in a pint shaker. Clear amber with modest white head. Sweet malt aroma. Flavor is sweet malt and ended with slight bitterness.

UPDATED: JUN 22, 2011 Bomber. Pours a coppery amber color with an inch of off-white head. The aroma is predominately caramel malt with some earthy hops in the background. The taste has lots of toasted malt and caramel at the front and more subtle notes of toasted marshmallows, citrus and herbal hops flavors in the background. The body is mildly creamy with moderate carbonation and a clean, bready finish. Overall, an enjoyable summer session beer.

I tried it for the first time and was almost impressed. Would like to try it again, but it would have to before the other 4 that I tried that day.

The Alaskan Amber has a much redder shade than I first thought. Most of the flavoring comes from the initial malty/hoppy taste but this beer also finishes with a mellow long after-taste

Dark amber color with a thin tan head. Aroma isn’t strong but is mostly sweet malts. Flavor is similar with primarily sweet malts and also some cereal flavors. Overall nothing extremely unique but a good solid amber ale.
