UPDATED: SEP 3, 2007 nice rich copper color. aromas of sweet malts and cooked carrots. flavor is mostly of cold tea with some mild hops. could put a few away mowing the lawn...
re-rated directly from bottle...for some reason it is much richer and full bodied when sipped right out of the bottle. the flavor gets an upgrade. now there are hints of honey, licorice root and dried herbs...
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 AWISLguy (269) - Wisconsin, USA - SEP 25, 2011
Bottle from Sendiks Brookfield. Similar to the bottles I should have bought in that dive gas station in Wyoming 5 years ago and the one I did have in Vegas in ’07 on the fly. Pours reddish orange - brandy colored - without much carbonation, little head. Aroma is grape, caramel, herbs - very sweet. Taste is flat champagne. Grapes. Hint of alcohol. Very sweet caramel underneath. Vegetal. Bread dough. Not unpleasant. Finishes a bit thin. Overall was better than the individual pieces grade out as.

Pours with a tall, thick, off-white head covering a clear, amber body with light lacing. Aroma of malts and prunes. Taste is of malts and pitted fruits. Creamy mouthfeel with light cabonation. This was in a taste off for a keg at my birthday party (other contestants were Stone Pale Ale, Sierra Nevada, and Boston Lager) this won.

Beautiful deep amber color, almost no noticeable carbonation. Intense maltiness in the aroma, along with moderately pungent hops. Malty flavor, with cherry and pear, and woody hop notes. I enjoyed the beer and the style, very original, yet still drinkable.

On tap at The Yard House in Denver, CO. Reddish-orange pour with a creamy off-white head. Aroma of bready malts and light floral hops. Nice, perfectly balanced flavor that is none too hoppy and none too sweet. Very sessionable and quite nice.

Draft sample at the Schlafly Repeal of Prohibition Festival. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted sweet malts, brown sugar, mild earthy hops, and a little bit of something like chocolate. Flavor of toasty malts, brown sugar, mild spices, and a bit of earth. Light-medium bodied, with a malty mouthfeel and medium carbonation. This was surprisingly good for an amber ale, and one of the beers I enjoyed quite a bit at this festival.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 CasperQuaffer (142) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - AUG 30, 2007
Toasty malt with slight caramel aroma. Pleasing autumn leaf color tending to fresh brewed ice tea. Flavor is balanced, smooth with a hint of maybe . . . butterscotch. The palate is both fizzy and a bit thick. This is an "old" standby for folks around here and deservedly so.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 redgold07 (308) - Irving, Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2008
Pours a copper/amber color with a fluffy white head. Aroma is slightly bitter/hoppy but also earthy. Flavor is well-rounded... a combination of caramel hops and earthy, lemony bittering hops.
On tap @ Monte Carlo, Las Vegas.
