3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Beaver (873) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 23, 2008
22 oz bottle. Pours a clear reddish amber with a fine off white head that goes to a thin film that laces the glass.
The aroma is sweet caramel malts, toffee and some fruit.
The flavor is slightly sweet caramel, toffee and biscuits with a little fruitiness and enough bitterness at the finish to balance it well. The mouthfeel is medium bodied.
Overall, nothing too exciting but this is a well made, well balanced and enjoyable brew. This reminded me a bit of Fat Tire, but better.

Bottle pours a light amber with a small fizzy head that leaves little lacing. Aroma is a bit sweet and distinctly apple. The slightly fruity sweet flavor is ther as well. Lively carbonation and a dry hoppy finish. Pretty good and light enough to be quite refreshing.

A great summer drinking beer. I really liked the flavor and for a super hot day this was a great beer. The flavor and balance was great. I would drink another.

Draft at Dad & Dude’s. Pours an attractive deep reddish copper with an off-white head. The nose is sweet, some grassy hop notes and a big malt body. On tasting, it needs more bitterness as it comes across on the sweeter side. Pretty nice malt profile with melanoidins and soft bread crust, but the sweetness is a bit much. More hops would really make this shine. Okay.

UPDATED: OCT 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours average amber with a thin body and a quickly receding head. Candied apple, strawberry cake, and nuts in the nose. Earthy malt flavors with a slice of cinammon and sugar toast with a malted apple finish. Decent mouthfeel. Not too shabby; lite and refreshing. Great accompaniment to ’’’’Deadliest Catch.’’’’

Good beer but for the price i will stick with the cheapo beers. But every now and then it is good to buy a twelve pack and enjoy. One of my favorites.
