COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our flagship beer is based on a turn-of-the-century recipe that quenched the thirst of miners during the Klondike Gold Rush. Smooth and richly malty, this altbier goes well with any meal.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2012 Standard amber ale. Very drinkable but not too memorable. Very nice reddish hue with a small head that leaves quickly. It lacks the fruity character of an amber but isn’t earthy enough for an alt. Still, it is clean and a solid beer. If it was a local brewery I might drink more of it but it’s nothing to really seek out IMO. 1-30-2012 Picked up a bomber of this on sale this weekend. It still goes down smooth and was quite enjoyable. Solid brew.

"Amber" is always the boring sounding option at good beer bars but it’s beers like this that make me think I should give them a shot more often. But then the next one sucks and I ignore them for another year.

Bottle: pours light brown/amber with thin white head. Aroma is malty, soft with brown sugar, a metallic note and light bread. Flavor is rich malt, caramel, touch of doughy bread. Palate is sweet with a rich, creamy malt yet not overly so and with a thick but easy to drink mouth feel. Overall a great easy to drink beer, not a lot of flavor nuances but still solid and tasty, good price point too.

Bottle - unable to pour out of bottle to see appearance, sweet malt aroma and flavor with a mild hop balance

Poured into a pint glass, deep Amber / Copper color with just the right amount of foam. Nose has fruits, cherries are dominant, and a hint of malt. Not many flavors on the palate, but goes down rich and creamy. Very well made, easy to drink beer. One of my new favorites I think.

Tap @ THE Steakout Saloon. Four years ago, I was drinking this constantly. It’s been awhile since I burned out on it. Pours a dark, clear copper appearance with an off white head with poor head retention. Sweet caramel malty, a bit dark citrus fruity, pear, earthy aroma. Apple, pear, light toffee, a bit toasty caramel malty flavor. Ehhh, not as tasty as I remembered.

Bottle, clear red amber with off white foam, nice malty aroma, bitter malty nutty flavor, sweet finish

Pours an amber with a thinner white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, nutty, and a bit bready. The taste continues along this theme, with the caramel a little less apparent. Nutty aftertaste. Good balance all around. Nice beer, nothing out of this world as I was told.

Who’d have thunk Alaskan Amber is a Northern German Altbier? Very true to style: in fact is part of the AHA calibration for this style. Aroma is nice, malty, and of munich malt. No diacetyl, very little hop character. Perfect appearance for the style: beautiful copper color, nice clarity, and well retained head. Flavor is a little on the sweet side and first, though seems to open up over time. I’d like to see a little more bitterness here. Low diacetyl, and a good, dry finish. Mouthfeel: medium-light body, medium-high carbonation, and a little alcoholic warmth. Overall, really enjoyed the appearance and mouthfeel. A very well done, easy to drink beer.

A go-to beer, always pleases. Awesome malty flavor, beautiful color. I was lucky enough to buy a keg awhile ago, didn't last long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On draft at Old Settler’s Music Festival. Pours deep amber, off white head. Malt in the nose, both sweet and roasted. Across the tongue, nice medium sweet balance, with a slightly drying finish. This is a beer that it interesting at first sip, but does not overpower so much that you are done after one. Balanced tasty Alt.
