Aubrey (2557), Denver, Colorado, USA Jul 6, 2004 On tap at the Hangar in Juneau: Clear and copper in color. Crisp and lively carbonation. Lightish body; mouthfeel was a little watery at times, but not too bad. Malts were really nice -- toasted with sweet caramel overtones. Hop bitterness wasn’t very noticeable at first, but it built a little with time, and bitterness was more noticeable in the aftertaste. Hops had mild aromas and flavors of flowers and herbs; a little drying on the tongue. Overall, pretty good, but I would’ve liked it a little maltier and a little hoppier. But I suppose it’s a pretty good session beer, which is probably what was intended.
JorisPPattyn (4262), Antwerpen, Belgium Apr 19, 2006 Draught Amber-foxy; fast disappearing yellow head. Nice clean hoppy nose, nowhere overdone. A bit cloying-cookie taste, hoppiness is needed to keep it in check. Slight burning MF, certain slickness. Good mainstream amber.
