Btl pours clear golden copper color with a fluffy white head that lingers for a while leaving good lace on glass. Smells of sweet oranges, pine and grapefruit. Taste of light sweet malt and grapefruit. Light body, sticky texture, lively carbonation with nice bitterness. Good, drinkable session pale ale.

Freeride hey? Isnít that a gay song by a gay band? So mote it be. When you want a real "free ride" right to the Big House stick with Blatz, and in no time you will be in the joint singing the "Clang Bang went the Big Iron Door" Blues. Overall this beer while not a mouthful of horse piss is also not a 40 ouncer of Blatz. So put that in yer pipe & smoke it.

Bottle (12oz $1.80) Sort for a orange color with white head. Nice aroma. No real flavors stand out, its a straight forward Pale Ale. Little bitterness. Very drinkable, would drink again, not on the "regular" list.

(can - 12 oz) Clear gold with a thick white head. Light hop aroma with some mild grassy undertones. Pretty standard but decent hop flavor with a very light bitter backbone and a slightly lingering hop finish.

[2/23/15] Can on Alaska Air flight from San Diego to Portland. Clear deep golden to amber color with an off-white head. Pleasant aroma of citric and tropical fruity hops and mild biscuit malt. Flavor has some sweetish malt, somewhat biscuity, fruity hops and a mild to moderate bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Nice and easy-going.

I got this on an airplane, a mile high tick and a pretty OK APA. Itís orange w/ a foamy head. The nose is pretty mild but the hop character is fresh and fruity--getting a lot of pine needles and peach especially. This isnít sweet but still pretty full bodied though vigorous carbonation keeps things light and creamy. This isnít especially flavorful but itís easy drinking and well-balanced.

Had it in the bottle. So can't really judge aroma or appearance. However it had a clean crisp taste for an ipa. Wasn't as hoppy as I prefer tho. Overall not bad ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Enjoy by 01.22.14. Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 01.28.14. A: Cloudy orange. 1 finger head. S: Grapefruit. Flower. Citrus. T: Grapefruit, malt. Pine on back end. M: Crisp. O: This one is in the middle of the pack as far as hop intensity for APAs. Itís not super hop forward, nor does it have a 1:1 balance of hops and malt like older APAs. Itís a little hop forward with good balance from the malt.

Bottle. Standard-looking amber beer with great head retention. Meaty and malty up front, just a basic ale balance. Quite heavy feeling for a session beer. (#5915, 1/10/2015)
