3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Yard House Houston. It pours a lightly hazy dark golden body and a small, dense off-white head. The aroma has some caramel maltyness, but itís the hops that dominates. Pine cones and some citrus notes. Quite dry on the palate, with a soft carbonation, medium to full body. Thereís a nice bitterness in the flavor, both initially and towards the end. Pine cones and some hop pellets. Not bad at all, but itís somehow boring anyway. 131112

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Clear pale amber with a short white head. Surprisingly enjoyable nose, though it is basic, the Cascade orange juiciness plays with some English-like hop moss / mustiness, which is confusing to be given the inclusion of Citra (and thankfully this isnít another Citra shallot / pee / pineapple bomb). Decent caramel / stroopwafel cookie malt core, a bit too sugary but not unpleasant. Medium body with frothy carbonation. Good acid, good balance. Crusty grains and stale bread crust with some green vegetal hops and stewed tea leaves (thereís the Centennial) once it warms. Becomes more bitter and rough with time and warmth, but overall itís a pretty solid American pale.
