Perfect example of an APA. Not super bitter, well rounded, hoppy and smooth with a little sweetness. All this from the bottle when you need to get Sierra Nevada in a can to come even close to its balance.

Tried this on tap at the Alaska Lodge (Sea-Tac Airport) . Great smooth flavor with just enough hops to give it a nice edge. Nice beer to kill 3 hours while waiting for my next flight.

This is a pretty beer. Pours with intensely thick white head, and itís body is a sparkling clear deep golden with light-orange highlights. The initial aroma tells you that it is an American pale ale, but upon closer inspection it is much more than basic citrus, definitely not dank, thereís a wonderful sweet tropical fruit note, lychee fruits, lemon, light pine, tangerine. Flavor is clean, touches of crystal malt donít play a major role, the hop flavor takes on a quenching step and plays along with a slightly toasty malt flavor. The tropical note runs all along through the finish which is nicely dry. This is an absolutely fantastic American pale ale and because of the characteristics of new hop varieties, this beer reflects what the new standard should be.

Drinking from the bottle. The nose is floral with a little citrus. The taste is sweet potpourri and rose petals. There is a slight warm taste in the finish that is syrupy. Love it.

Well now, I was originally rating this beer as an IPA. Hops are of the battering variety mostly but itís pretty tasty.

Beautiful beer. Very nice ale with stronger hops presence while maintaining balance with some sweetness of the malt. Very nice complexity. Will enjoy often. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: NOV 29, 2014 These types of beers when done right, like this one is are really tasty. Hoppy, crisp, refreshing, session able. Solid beer if you like APAís.

This one was the first one from Alaska Brewing that I tried and it was really good. Easy to drink from start to Finnish smooth not bitter. Would recommend.

Almost an IPA. In fact, I would call it an IPA. The hops and bitterness are there, just not the ABV. Quite good.

Nice Hoppy aroma, with slightly darker golden color. Excellent hops with subtle malt flavor. This is currently my #1 favorite drinking beer. (Not a fan of the term "session" beer, It makes beer drinking sound too structured - "my friends and I have scheduled a beer session for 2 weeks from Friday"....) Anyway, this is a great and very drinkable beer - can be a little hard to find in Colorado. One more reason to move to Alaska.
