A very tasty and appealing American Pale Ale from Alaskan Brewing Company. I would happily have another.

NW pale ale with new age Citra addition to classic Cascade and Centennial hops. Despite snowboarder on label, a nice summer respite from runoff of IPA’s still flooding market. Sours certainly seem to be chinking away at this homogeneous wave in craft beer resurgence this season as well. Also, since when can we have sports on beer labels? Was that not the whole issue with Alpine Extreme http://www.ratebeer.com/beer/paulaner-bavarian-alp making that such a rare find, esp with Texas “Malt Liquor” designation stamped on already rare label? Oh, damn, snowboarder was perhaps the old label found online, this one has a cyclist trekking on frozen water next to wall of ice, slowly creeping through time with immense energy eventually carving Deap Vallys grooves into the continent. Flown over the glaciers that perhaps found way into a batch of this en route to Asia. Clarity would almost make someone who regularly works 80 hour weeks impressed. Spans taste of classic NW pale and modern trend in new flavor discoveries. Leaves lace on glass the level of Vegas bachelor party after good intending attendee doing part by cleaning some of the lingerie before succumbing to out of element amphetamine come down sleep.

12oz bottle. Very dry APA. Not the best I’ve had from Alaskan, but a decent beer none the less. Would probably get again.

Bottle at Champs DTW. Hazy deep orange with a small off white head leaving sparse lace. Lots of citrus with a subdued caramel backing. Moderately bitter. Medium slick mouth with average carbonation and a long bitter finish.

Tap@Alaska Lodge (SEA), Seattle, USA. Medium aroma with a bit overaged mango and some resin. Deep golden color with minimal white head and clear liquid. Medium bit messy taste of fruits and citrus, some pine and resin. Unbalanced and medium/narrow taste spectrum. Medium aftertaste with citrus and some hops. Light/medium body with medium carbonation. Overall, bit messy underperformer, fresh though.

Bottle at st Patrick’s day party. Aromas of hops and citurs. Flavors were the same. Hoppy for an APA. Ok

bottle. Poured clear dark amber with a creamy lasting of white head. Bold citrus hop aroma. Medium-full bodied, creamy mouthfeel with a tart finish. Flavour is mainly hop dominated, earthy, with bitter citrus grapefruit and caramel malt.

It’s not bad - nothing to write home about, but not bad. Nice appearance with decent head and some lace. Aroma is malt and hops. Flavor’s similar to nose, sweet at first, then the hops, finishes with wet grain. Slight medicinal character there too.
