4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Semi-hazy copper with a thin white head. Nose is pretty hop forward with leafy and piney hops mixing with some clementine and a little lupulin. Taste is well balanced for a DIPA, letting hops and malt take equal show. Flavor starts off with a resinous yet citric bite, blends into a kind of leafy quality, before a toasty and caramalt middle hang around while the hoppy acidity wears off. Finishes bitter and leafy, but not too acidic. This is the correct way to do DIPAs.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Served on tap in a short English Pint? 10oz? Maybe I was put off by the odd glass; I mean why not a tulip? The first thing I noticed was the aroma came wanting. Lots of toasty malt presence, caramel and then just a hint of grapefruit and stone fruit hops. The taste was sweet roast malted first and then the hops made themselves known. I expect my DIPAs to be hop forward, and while this had some decent resinous tones the hops seemed muddled and indistinct. I did enjoy the long lasting bitterness but the sweetness of the malts overwhelmed. The appearance was a deep copper with nice lacing and medium body in the mouth. This is a decent offering but lacks any WOW factor. Perfectly fine for a nice glass at happy hour but would not get my 6pack money.

4.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Little but pleasant aroma. Served in a tulip glass with an appealing visual. Taste is better than expected for this brewery. Hop is balanced well with a sweet ending. A good representation of a double IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap. Pours a slightly hazy light-amber, good carbonation, and decent head. Big hop aroma, piney piney piney, yellow citrus, and a bit of gooseberry. Flavor is big hops up front and then smooth and sweet malt. Slight biscuit character, finishes with a smooth bitterness and dryness. Alcohol is well-hidden and it never comes across as ’hot’. Clean lingering bitterness in the aftertaste. Very good.
