3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Shared 12 oz. bottle poured to snifters, showing a clear, orangey amber hue, was a fair layer of off white, bubbly head foam, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was lightly dank, with light grain, and citrus as grapefruit & orange. The taste offered moderate, citrusy & rindy hop bitterness that lingered with some subtle malt sweetness, and complementary alcohol, into the finish. Not wowed, but a decent DIPA.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a hazy orange-caramel color with a small soapy white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter with notes of pine, fruity hops and a bit of toasted caramel. The flavor was very bitter with caramel, strong pine, resin and vague fruity hops. Long hoppy finish. Moderately full bodied. Decent.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle to glass. Pours a solid copper color with decent sized cream head. Aroma is a solid mix of floral, fruity hops with caramel malts. Taste is slightly sweet tropical fruit, pineapple with a quick hint of caramel malts finishing dry and bitter with a hint of alcohol. Palate is medium body, medium carbonation. Overall, a solid double IPA.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle. Bought this after seeing it in a bunch of magazine beer reviews, it must be good, right? Pours dark copper, bubbly white medium head, translucent. Aroma is very very good, not too strong. Taste is nice, hop blend is good, somewhat complex for an IPA, refreshing! Somewhat skunky. Definitely not trying to destroy my palate, light palate for a DIPA. Good aftertaste. Good beer, debatable whether itís worth what theyíre trying to charge for it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2014 Aroma: Malty to the point of bready, light floral with a smattering of grapefruit.
Appearance: Bold orange color, with great clarity. Clean white head which dissipates quickly.
Taste: Malt driven with citrus sharpness hurrying to catch up. Brown sugar? Yes brown sugar and a flash of warm spices.
Palate: Full bodied from the outset, definitely a double, maybe a double and a quarter IPA. Malt is certainly the backbone of this beer with the citrus notes coming in second. The citrus drops off quickly as the beer warms leaving it a touch flabby by the bottom of the glass. It doesnít feel like an 8.5% ABV until the end of the glass when it starts to get a little boozy. Low carbonation from the outset also falls off towards the end. Slightly disappointing finish, no real length except for a touch of pastiness.
Overall: A fine attempt at a cold weather double IPA. The hearty malt would work well in the winter months, but I tasted it on a 70 degree evening and it didnít have enough zest to keep it appealing to the end. Not for summer time, but them the name probably suggests that.

~Sweet bready malt aroma with caramel and lots of earthy, floral aroma from the hops, woody, spicy, perfumey.
~Pours a clear amber with slight haze, big fluffy lasting white head.
~Chewy resinous hop flavor, woody and earthy, slight pine. Well balanced with a big bready malt backbone.
~Full bodied, med low CO2, lingering earthy resinous hop finish.
~Quite delicious. Iím having this for breakfast and it hits the spot. I like how well balanced it is since Iím not really a hop head.
