From bottle. Not a very strong hop aroma. A bit floral, somewhat muted with candy sugar and some caramel and oxidation. Deep dark amber clear with haze, topped with creamy-foamy off-white lacing head. Medium body with medium-high carbonation. Starts with caramel and biscuit, light oxidation, and muted floral but strong bitter hop character. Light alcohol sweetness. Finish is muted bitter with light sweet after. Perhaps it didn’t travel well.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a true amber with a nice white head and good glass lacing. Aroma is soft and a little muted with hops and pine most noted. A beer that has great hop flavor and hides the abv well.

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle pour to shaker. One of the darkest colored IPA’s in recent memory and nice malty aroma. Initial malt-forward taste but didn’t really do much for me after that appearance and first sips. Interesting and an okay beer, but . . .

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Appearance: Pours a glowing amber with a thick white cap of foam.
Aroma: Ultra fresh American hops. Mixture of bright grassy and citrus notes, tropical fruit, a touch of pine and brown sugar sweetness beneath all that.
Taste: A burst of flavorful abrasive bitter and juicy hops. Fruit cocktail, some bread crust, finishes with earthy grapefruit bitterness with decent lingering.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied. Prickly active carbonation. Perfectly dry, especially for the style.
Overall: Alaskan stepped out of their comfort zone of widely appealing session ales with this hop forward beer. The freshness and layers of hop goodness reminded me of Sierra Nevada Hoptimum.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle, 12C. Amber with an inch of white head. Aroma of grapefruit marmalade, bread, some pine. A little syrupy. Sweet bread and biscuit with middle register citrus - sour oranges, grapefruit, kumquat - pine creeps up in a solidly bitter finish. Rich but not oversweet malt side works well with the hops. Quite good, but not particularly interesting.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle from a 4pack served in a shaker- poured a very murky and disturbing solid copper color, light carbonation. Aroma of hops by the ton, pine, and some caramel. Hits the mouth with a wide medium body, malt is only slightly sweet but acidity from the middle carries well past the finish. Rough day- but this helps.

Tap. Dark copper. Very tiny amount of lingering head. Sort of boozey nose. Great hopping paired with a sweet alcohol quality. Heavy, but good.

Bottle pours a golden orange brew with a white top. Nose of pine, fruit and caramel. Taste is sweet with some citrus notes. Some notes of tea are unpleasant.

A great double IPA. Beautiful orange with terrific lacing. Fresh green hop aromas. Flavors are a touch sour then a bracing hop bitterness. Really liked this.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Light copper, clear, off-white head. Aroma of biscuity malt with a touch of caramel, resiny-citrusy hops are slightly restrained for a double ipa. Flavor: neutral malt with some caramel, pronounced resiny bitterness, citrusy hop flavor, all in good proportion. Not as dry as some like their double IPAs, but it is very drinkable.
