2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 15/20
For a 8.5% alcohol Double IPA (IIPA), this beer doesnít have any flavor at all. Perhaps it is so strong that the first touch to your tongue kills all your taste buds. I doubt it though.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Orange with a dimpled white head. Aroma is very malty and sweet with light red grapefruit notes. Taste is just as it smells, though somewhat more crisp and clean into the finish. $3/12oz

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a dark orange. Has a slight orange and tannic taste to it. Seems more like a barley wine. The hop bitterness is there but isnít huge for a double. Solid but not what I was expecting.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Golden-bronze. Has a light tree fruit hop character and a fair bit if caramel. Little bit chewy, very sweet, touch of diacetyl coming in late. Doesnít really come together, not enough bitterness to manage those malts and the elements arenít clicking.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear amber color, moderate head, good lace/retention. Aroma is pine, citrus, grapefruit, light caramel. Medium to light bodied for the style, moderate bitterness, tasty but kind of light for the style.

Bottle. Pours copper, small head. Aroma is really malty. Flavor is to malty for me, not a true imperial IPA in my opinion. However, there are some good things about it. ABV is well hidden, some pine and citrus notes. Not so much in the finish. Wish it had more bitter bite.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Just about perfect west coast IPA. Great piney nose, flavor to match, with a rich golden color with a creamy head. On tap at Palms, perhaps over carbonated here - overly crisp and bubbly, but a minor complaint. Terrific beer.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a clear copper with an off white head. Citrus hop overpower the nose little hints of hops. Mixture of citrus of hops balanced nicely with malts. Decent double ipa.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tap @ Cafe Lulu, Milwaukee. Slightly darker amber pour. Pine needles and citrus grapefruit nose. High alcohol content is barely noticable. This is very unbalanced. Almost nothing is tasted except the over abundance of hops. The body and character of the brew is impossible to rate as the hops just overpowers everything else. Whatís with brewers putting a ton of hops into crummy beer and trying to pass it off as "craft" brew. Iím not falling for it. Overall Alaskan Brewing Company has not impressed me with many of their offerings.
