Aroma good, appearance golden with pretty bubbles in the pint. Just the right amout of foam that lasted through conversation. Mild hoppiness. Bartender said it was one of those she could drink six of then finally realize how drunk she was. I agree thanks to the subtle but effective 8.6. Rad beer!

Sampled at Northgate Tasting. Meh... not much aroma. Mediocre taste. I expect more from this style, this ABV, and even this brewery.

Orange/Bronze in color, head quick to dissapate. Loads of pine, resin in aroma. Slight orange as well. Lighter body than appearance would suggest, pine bitterness throughout. Finishes kind of soapy. Not very complex hop profile, but solid IPA.

Orange amber colour with a two-finger bright white head and very nice lace. Bright hoppy citrus aroma. Gentle hop bitterness with a nice offsetting caramel sweetness. Medium body, creamy mouthfeel, moderate carbonation and a crisp clean finish.

Heavy, dank aroma with noticeable sweetness. Crystal clear copper with a foamy off-white head. Lots of sweet caramel malt and bitter, earthy hops hit at the same time. The alcohol comes up behind this but doesn’t really have much of a bite. Full bodied and smooth creamy texture. Seems to be more like what a British DIPA would be given the strong malt character and earthy bitterness without a bite.

Jello-y amber pour with half inch of white head. Juicy almost syrupy citrus aroma, simple but pungent. Soft carbonation, syrupy but tingly mouthfeel, clean finish that’s a little numbing. Light piney and citrusy hop taste, biscuity malt backbone, slightly tropical pineapple, papaya, and coconut toward the finish. Nice, light, DIPA that hides its ABV well.

Piney, almost minty aroma with a little woodsy/forest note. Strong hop bitterness is matched bud for bud with the alcohol laden malt flavors. I’d like it better with some more hop flavor, or if they just called it a Barley wine instead.

From bomber to glass. Overt grapefruit. Clear deep hold with full white head. Moderate high bitterness and slight alcohol warmth. Balanced malt and hop flavor, where the flavor could be more pronounced. Overall, a very good beer but nothing to seek out.

Poured from a bottle into a Alaska Brewing Pilot Series Pint glass a golden orange with a white head that laced beautifully down the side of the glass as the brew was drained. Aroma is slight sweet grasses (smile) Flavor is better than aroma. Resin grass with a citrus bitter finish. Smooth. Extremely drinkable. Balanced flavor like so few can do. Outstanding!

Poured from a bottle into an Alaskan Brewing pint glass. Aroma is of grass and straw, reminds me of a fall day. Appearance is a clear golden amber with a thick two finger creamy head that lingers through the session. Taste is a semi sweet grassy straw hop flavor with a slight bitterness at the finish. Overall well balanced. Palate is very good with a slight creaminess to it. Overall a great double IPA I’d stack up against any other. Well worth trying and I highly recommend this beer. Cheers!

12 oz bottle. 102914 best by date? Pours clear amber with an off-white head. Caramel aroma with herbal, pine hops. Caramel flavor with herbal and spicy hops, slightly stale tasting. Just an okay beer, and subpar as a double IPA.
