COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing, crisp finish is achieved by dry hopping. The fruity, citrusy aroma is a nice complement with grilled prawns and spicy foods.

Bottled (thanks Kalevi Kurronen!). Goldeny orange colour with a mediumsized white creamy head which leaves some slight lace. Aroma is fruity and floral hops along with ome sap, caramel malts as well as quite grassy and bready notes. Flavour is quite much the same along with some mild herbal notes. Quite fruity and floral hoppy finish. Nothing mindblowing, but a pleasantly balanced mellow IPA.

22 oz. bottle from 99 Bottles. Wispy head. Transparent beer. Light copper color, almost tawny colored. Sweet caramel malts are poking through more than the hops. Light citrus fruit, mainly grapefruit, hop aroma. The hops don’t smack me in the face, and are fairly muted. Too balanced, in the sense that I believe the hop profile should have the clear edge, but it doesn’t. There is a lingering bitterness, but it doesn’t seem fresh and bitter, just bitter for the sake of being, well, bitter. What I am saying is, is that I believe this lacks depth, and nuance. Hops hit the taste buds way in the back of the mouth, but really, this beer isn’t making me rethink my love for the Alaskan Brewing company. Overall, decent IPA; it’s quite solid, but nothing worth getting excited about.

West USA trip 2010. On tap @ Pizza Port Carlsbad. The aroma has some grassy hoppy tones. Clear, golden coloured beer with not much head. The taste is a bit grassy, citric, moderate bitter. Bit thin body. Average IPA. Expected more from this brewer.

22oz bottle. Pours a nice golden hue with white head. Faint pine smell, a little less than I thought. Palate is decently balanced citrus and floral is light and easy drinking. Crisp dry finish, not overly complex but does the job. Would have again.

12oz. Bottle. Pours hazy golden and citrus notes. Body is full and lively. Bitterness is medium and lightly sour. Overall...good beer, not the best but very flavorful.

complex and therefore demonstrative since it is hoppy enough and a bit more sweet than usual. pine cone flavor i am rather fond of combined with golden color and orange like citrus. caramel like malt profile balances this some with a dry finish. decent.

The Dan Journal #384. Tasted 8/4/10. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a dark golden hue. Finger width of bone white head. Aromas of toast and pine. Orange rind and mild caramel. Citrus zest and grapefruit. Medium bodied with a ton of bitter grapefruit flavors. Subtle undertones of strawberries and bananas. Good bitterness, but a little one dimensional. Straight forward and good.

Botle pours a crystal clear light yellow orange with a small lively white head that faded rather quickly. Very little IPA aroma. A little sweet maltiness and maybe a little fresh pine/grassines. Defiantly the sorriest excuse I have seen for an IPA so far. Flavor also is mostly light sweet malt. Slight hop bitterness, barely even enough to offset the remaining residual sugars. Which is not much. It’s like someone poured half my glass with Corona first. A little bitter bite at then end...but I think that is just the hops saying "SYCHE! ! " Not bad, per se’ just very disappointing.
