3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Dickinsonbeer (5077) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - OCT 6, 2009
12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep gold with a thin lasting head and very nice lace. Aroma is grassy nutty earthy minty, english and tea-like hops, and light citrus. Flavor is clean, some grass, light herbs, mint, tea, toast, cracker with a crisp finish- light on the hops and bittering. Average at best. Seems too old school-like. Gotta get with the times and step up the hops even for a regular IPA.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Joakgust (435) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - OCT 2, 2009
Bottle, 355ml - Clear golden orange beer with a small head. Aroma is fruity with notes of caramel and grapefruit. Flavor is malty with notes of citrus, caramel and grassy hops. Nice and typical IPA, nothing more nothing less.
3.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 13/20 cathcacr (619) - Oregon, USA - SEP 29, 2009
#573 (Harmon KilleBREW) This is a weird IPA. Aroma is wonderfully piny upon opening the bottle. Appearance comes out some hazy deep yellow much like a morning urination, with no head to speak of. Flavor is actually nice, but overwhelmed by the flat palate that is almost like a cream-ale feel.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Hank1980 (942) - Athens, Georgia, USA - SEP 28, 2009
Bottle. Poured gold with a white head. Aroma is really citrusy hoppy. Some mild malt also present. Taste is similarly straightforwad, though there isn’t too much malt. Pretty nice, refreshing IPA. Mouth is on the light side for and IPA, but not bad. Overall, a solid IPA.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 omhper (15600) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - SEP 27, 2009
Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Clear golden, small head. Papery grapefruit aroma. Dryish and light bodied. Crystallic malt and grapefruity hops. Rather bitter finish. Quite basic IPA.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 jamespgentry (22) - Washington, USA - SEP 23, 2009
This is just a pretty good beer. Nothing fancy going on here: just some mild hoppiness, crisp nose and mouthfeel, and easy drinking. One of my favorite session beers.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 yemenmocha (657) - Glendale, Arizona, USA - SEP 18, 2009
Pours pale golden color with moderate sized white head. In the glass you might mistake it for a macro lager in terms of color.
Nose is prickly grapefruit and lemon, but overall on the lighter side. Very subdued.
On the palate a more balanced malt/hop balance is apparent for an IPA, with nothing too extreme going on. Perhaps this is more of a traditional IPA than "American" IPA.
Finish is dry with pine. Easy drinking IPA.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Stuedmaster (57) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 11, 2009
Nice thick white head on a light golden brew, with decent lacing. Aroma is clean and citrusy, perhaps grapefruit. Flavor is light and hoppy, not much body. A good session beer, served nice and cold after a hot excursion in the sun. I guess I’ve been spoiled by all of these powerful California IPA’s. This is more like a regular pale ale and doesn’t pack much punch.
