3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 ElGaucho (1816) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - NOV 14, 2011
Bottle. Really nice hoppy aroma. Almost crystal clear, light gold body with steady rising bubbles. Rare to find an IPA that is this clear and this light in color. Nice, hoppy IPA with a stand out finish. One of the better everyday IPAs available in the Twin Cities market

This calls itself and ipa but i would almost put it in the category of an amber. There are hops in this beer but they barely come out. Not much malt either and just too watery for my taste. More for someone who likes really light beers but wants more than your average bud light can offer.

Pours a clear copper with thin white head. Aroma is quite hoppy and floral. Flavor is similar. An ok IPA.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 Hophogs (5) - - NOV 6, 2011 does not count
Not overly hoppy. Crisp and finishes clean though a little bitter on the end. Will definitely try again.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Heathen (1241) - Wilmington, Delaware, USA - NOV 1, 2011
THOUGHTS: Solid IPA, but nothing unique. Definitely well made. Nice and dry. Could use a little more malt to balance things out, but still nice.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, dark yellow to light orange with an average, slightly off-white head that mostly diminished and left excellent lacing. The aroma had light pale malt; even lighter caramel; and moderate pine and citrus hops. The initial flavor was lightly sweet and light to moderately bitter; while the finish was moderately sweet and moderate to heavily bitter with an average to long duration. There was pale malt, slight caramel, lots of citrus hops and a little pine and metallic hops; the light to medium body was fairly dry with fizzy carbonation and a dry and lightly metallic finish.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AWISLguy (269) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 28, 2011
Bottle from Sendiks. Pours a lively yellow with some head. Lot of small bubbles under the surface. Great concentric lacing. Aroma is citrus and pine. Both somewhat subtle. Taste is lemony citrus, some pine. Light, crisp, clean. Somewhat sweet. Finishes fairly short; sweet with a bit of bitterness.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 1FastSTi (2990) - Glendale, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 23, 2011
Pours to a vibrant golden body with a nice visible carbonation and a sexy lively white head. The aroma is citrusy mango and lemons with pine. The flavor is toasty. Lots of malt with some subtle pine hops. Sweet hops. The beer seems to me to be more of an APA. The palate is bitter up front, but only moderately so. Then, the sweetness takes over. This is an APA.

Superior, Co. - Superior Liquors - 12 oz bottle. Dark golden pour, white pillowy head - light lacing. Floral aroma, faint hints of spruce. Flavor has a a nice subtle bitterness to it, but not very pronounced for an IPA. Citrus, some faint saffron-like spiciness. Sharp mouthfeel.
