In early 2014 Alaskan re-branded their IPA as Icy Bay IPA

The very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing, crisp finish is achieved by dry hopping. The fruity, citrusy aroma is a nice complement with grilled prawns and spicy foods.

12 oz bottle: A floral hop aroma, citrus, and a light grassy note. Appearance is a golden color with a thick white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste has got a nice hop note with a citrus finish. Palate has got a carbonated mouth feel and an aftertaste of bitterness. Overall, Just an average IPA in my honest opinion. Cheers!

Bottle in Sedona. Aroma of citrus and piney hops. Tastes of dusty, resinous hops. Bitter and one dimensional. Meh.

12 oz bottle. Tasted on 7/15/14. Beer from Total Wine Dallas, TX. The aroma is mild with pine & some citrus but not a lot on the nose. Taste is pretty tame for an IPA with not much hop bitterness or flavor to me. Not terrible but pretty bland. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Hazel’s beverage world. Amber color, white head. Bitter taste with citrus, hops, pine and a bit of resin. Bitter finish with citrus, hops and pine. Decent IPA, but pretty dull in terms of aromas.

Light orange brew with the aroma of floral hops. Taste is sorta like fruit on the edge of being rancid. Far from the best IPA I have had but not the worst. At first I was going to give this a very low score on taste but after the second one the flavor kinda dulled out and they wasn’t as bad as the first one. Some folks may like the flavor of this variety of hops but they are not for me.

Aroma of grapefruit and citrus.very bold hop bite on the palate in this hop forward beer.it’s ok for me not as well rounded as other ipas and could use more malt to balance the pungent hops chosen.

Pours a beautiful gold with lovely clarity and some lager type bubbles floating ever upward to a fat head of bone white foam that had excellent retention and left clinging lace. Nose is earthy and citrusy. A powdery and soft hop floral pervades the nose. There is a light and earthy pine and pink grapefruit. The malt to the nose is a but a drop of tempting honey, just a bit of sugary sweetness. Taste is mild and juicy. The pink grapefruit abounds in the flavor. Tart, citric and with some of the bright zest of the fruit peel. The mouthfeel is west coast style lightness and as it warms a just a hint of cracker peeks through. It’s not very sweet but just sweet enough. The hops are floral perfection in this and exude their powdery musk throughout the drink. Their sweetness is unique in this aspect. The pine and a subtle herbal combine for a more delicate approach to the palate. The bitter is soft and graceful and ends this beer dry, with a slight pucker and with you wanting more. Lovely.
