In early 2014 Alaskan re-branded their IPA as Icy Bay IPA

The very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing, crisp finish is achieved by dry hopping. The fruity, citrusy aroma is a nice complement with grilled prawns and spicy foods.

12oz bottle, thanks to Robotopera for picking this up for me while he was in Michigan. Best by 11/04/14. Clear golden orange color. Pours with a good thicker off-white head. Leaves some decent splotches of lace. Medium plus body. Kind of slick. Smooth, kind of soft, tingly lighter carbonation. Some grassy, mildly citrusy hop, some herbal hop aromas. Lighter caramel bready malt. Hint of metallic. Moderate bitter taste, light to moderate sweet. Light bit of zest. Decent, though kind of mild IPA.

Bottle. Hazy light gold pour with a big foamy head that fades very slowly and leaves chunky lacing. Aroma is stale, old hops mostly. Dry wood, light flowers, light grass. Tastes incredibly boring but not terrible. Just nothing exciting about this. Grass, hay, light pine, and moderate bitterness. Super dry finish. Pretty much the opposite of the kind of IPA I enjoy. Wish I didn’t buy the 6-pk but at least the price was good. Cheaper than many bombers out there.

Pours a clear yellow copper color with smaller off white head. Nose has fruit, with apricot. Body is light and crisp with some fruit, more apricot and grapefruit all the way until the end. Finish has a tinge of bitterness, just enough to keep it on your tongue for a while. Not bad.

Grassy, citrus hop aromas. Paler orange color, with thick white head. Sweet, rich creamy malt up front. Bitterness is uneven, and hops are citrus/pine tasting. Finishes with the grassy bitterness...not much balance. Average.

Slightly hazy gold color, thin white head. Aroma is not very strong, a little sweet. Flavor has moderate hops and a little citrus. Pretty mild IPA.

Too clear amber color with thin body. Hop aroma and taste were OK, but surpassed by 100 MI IPAs.

12 oz bottle: A floral hop aroma, citrus, and a light grassy note. Appearance is a golden color with a thick white head that lingers for quite a while. Taste has got a nice hop note with a citrus finish. Palate has got a carbonated mouth feel and an aftertaste of bitterness. Overall, Just an average IPA in my honest opinion. Cheers!

Bottle in Sedona. Aroma of citrus and piney hops. Tastes of dusty, resinous hops. Bitter and one dimensional. Meh.
