3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 SDbruboy (1864) - San Diego, California, USA - APR 10, 2007
12 oz. bottle, from Fred Meyer in Newberg, OR. Pours clear orangey-amber with a small off-white head that diminished quickly. Nice hoppy aroma, floral and citrus with undertones of toasty malts and fresh summer fruit. Flavor is a strange combination of brash and mild, with a nice hop blast that seemed to come and go as I sipped - one time it hit me up front, then quickly gave way to mild toasty malt water, then another time, the mild toasty malt water started out and the hop blast came on in the finish - weird! Anyway, hops are floral and citrus with a bit of spiciness and the malts remain lightly toasty with periodic glimpses of toffee. Light to medium body and agressive carbonation. Not my favorite IPA by any stretch, but definiitely different and interesting.

Bottle from cbkschubert, Thanks Craig! Nose of floral hops; light copper with a small white head; flavor of medium hop bitterness with some pininess, the bitterness lasting into the finish. Good underrated IPA!
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 beerinmarch (2830) - Washington, USA - APR 8, 2007
Reminds me a lot of bridgeport ipa. Floral citrus hops throughout without much sweetness up front. Crisp and dry in the finish with a slight pine resin aftertaste. Pours clear amber with a soft white head.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - APR 5, 2007
Nice bouquet of floral hops and grass. Light gold in color with a nice white ehad and lots of effervesence. Some sweet and sour malts are accompanied by modest bitterness - citric and grass. Slight dryness on the swallow. A little thin but quite a quaffer.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 cbkschubert (2751) - Cochise Co., Arizona, USA - APR 4, 2007
12 oz. bottle - Pours a clear orangish-golden color with a one and a half finger thick off white head. Light lacing. Has an herbal hop aroma. Very light malt presences with a light citrus zing. Light to medium body. Slight bitter palate. A decent beer.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 raphael (665) - Portland, Oregon, USA - APR 3, 2007
aroma more sweet then hoppy, though the nose hairs know. egg whites. clear blondish amber with measly off-white head. wants to linger in the mouth a little, though light in weight. gives the tongue just a pinch. while the hops are clearly present I appreciate the malt presence, more weight than sweetness, as good grain should, cleanly. would be a great session beer, a little hoppier than most, but of a good weight & lack of lingering.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bitbucket (2082) - Kirkland, Washington, USA - APR 3, 2007
Bottle. Pours a clear golden amber with a fluffy white head. Sweet citrus and pine aroma. Light, watery body and medium carbonation. Taste is lightly sweet toffee and citrus with a crisp spruce finish. Everything about this beer except the 6.4 ABV says lawnmower.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 k9coug (69) - USA - APR 3, 2007
Too sweet and malty for an IPA. Too subtle nose. I consider ALASKAN to be a northwest brewery, and as such their IPA should be assertive. This one is not. As in all Alaskan products, they should not be bottled in twist tops as the risidual sugars cause the caps to be difficult to open. Nice pale color.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 kyzr (1140) - Belgrade, Montana, USA - APR 2, 2007
Copper pour with white head. Typical aroma of an IPA. Flavor is not as hoppy as the nose lets on, flavor is light citrus at first then fades into a malty balance. Finish is not really over the top hoppy like a lot of west coast IPAs. Rather clean finish.

12oz bottle pours out a dark gold topped with a nice white head. A great aroma and tast of hops. pretty good for a IPA from Alaska. O ya what is up with the surfer on the bottle???
