COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In early 2014 Alaskan re-formulated their IPA as Icy Bay IPA

The very intense, complex aromatic character with a refreshing, crisp finish is achieved by dry hopping. The fruity, citrusy aroma is a nice complement with grilled prawns and spicy foods.

12oz bottle from bevmo in Newport beach, CA. Clear dark gold pour. White head an eighth inch high. Scent is sweet citrus/pineapple and some pungent, sour sulfur. Body is medium. Malty sweet taste, salty, nutty, a little resin and pine. Finish is bitter and sour and leaves tongue a bit tingly.

Only ipa I can get at the Omni hotel in Dallas. After having it several times it's grown on me. Not in my top 10 but still decent. Malty with medium hop. Almost a cross between ipa and pa. Can't see the color in the dark bar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2014 12 oz bottle from Tipsy?s. Gold and clear with a lacy white head. Aroma is hoppy and bitter with herbs, flowers and spruce. Similar flavor with crisp malts and a lingering bitter finish. Medium body. 2.9. Update: I thought Icy Bay was a little better than their old one, probably around 3.1.

Not impressed, but have no idea how old the bottle is. Wish all breweries would date their bottles. Drinkable as a session ale, but hops are faded.

Aroma is light pine, citrus and a hint of spice/heat. The flavor is light grapefruit, citrus, malts a pretty dry finish. Not bad if a little one-dimensional.

Bottle received in trade from BeerKangaroo, thanks for the opportunity. Pours a crystal clear deep golden color with a huge bubbly off white head that persists forever. Aromas of caramel and citrus dominate with hints of mineral to round it out. The flavor is a bit of pine, spice, and citrus with a solid bready caramel to back it up. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mineral mouthfeel. Nice easy drinker, a bit old school but certainly serviceable.

Bottle. Toffee malt and orange peel/pine aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet orange-caramel malt and moderately bitter grapefruit peel. Light body. Not bad - standard.

Pours golden with a white head and nice lacing. Citrus, hop, floral and malt aroma. Hop, citrus, floral, honey and malt flavors. Medium light body and average carbonation. Moderate bitterness with a biscuit and hop finish.
