TomDecapolis (2389), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 9, 2007 On tap at Humpy’s in Anchorage. Pours a translucent golden copper with a medium bubbly white head that left some lacing. Aroma of some fresh hops with citrus, some banana, flavor and some caramel malt. Flavor of citrus, floral and some more of that banana/clove. Did they use some hefe yeast in this IPA? Also got some cereal grains, a decent hop bitterness followed by a nice malty graininess.
Brewsmith (50), Torrance, California, USA Aug 19, 2008 From a 220z. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is pineapple and some citrus. Color is a clear gold with a half inch white head. Bitter with some toasty malt. A touch of malty sweetness, but only a little. Hop flavor is earthy and a little piney. Carbonation may be a touch too much, a little CO2 bite. Clean and dry with a little lingering bitterness and hop flavor. Not bad over all. buzzoven (93), Japan Aug 15, 2008 Bottle at Paley’s Place, Portland. Beautiful tawny tan colour. Aroma of creamed caramel, malts and corn. Smooth mouthfeel showcasing exquisite balance in it’s flavour. The slight bitter hint in the finish is excellent. A true classic IPA owing more to the UK style than monster hop bombs. jjpm74 (2878), Connecticut, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours gold/amber with a white head. Smells of citrus and earthy. Tastes citrusy and nicely bitter with a grapefuit like finish. Nice! timfoolery (333), California, USA Aug 10, 2008 Bottle from Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. This IPA was not as piney or fruity as I’m used to. The citrus tasted a cross between lemons and limes with a little floral. Also, it was reasonably malty. yespr (6162), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 7, 2008 From tap at Stone Bistro. Pours golden yellow with a white head. Peachy and grapefruity hops aroma. Smooth and crisp hops flavour of the same. This keeps lingering into a lovely fruity hops finish. Very smooth flavourwise!
