3.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Taverner (1037) - San Ramon, California, USA - NOV 14, 2007
Crisp, but ultimately flavorless. The aroma is that of a pine forest - giving you high expectations. The first taste, however, is a grapefruit note. After that it fades quickly. This IPA poured a clear gold to light amber in a half-yard. The head was white and frothy.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 jimbowood (1036) - Freeport, Georgia, USA - OCT 4, 2008
bottle from bevmo in Tempe. A nice ipa, but nothing spectacular. Mild hop presence makes this an optimal ipa for coors drinkers.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ChillCoat (1030) - Concord, California, USA - JAN 10, 2008
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2008 Bottle. An awesome looking IPA! A little clear but nice and light colored with a just off-white/ ivory head. Worty/ fruity smelling malt aroma with some grapefruit hop notes. Slightly sweet and pretty fruity but nicely hopped. Hop forward. Citrusy. Man, I don’t get the ratings here, I think this is an nice IPA!
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 trokini (1027) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 6, 2007
Clear gold pour with a wall of bubbles for a head. Nice release of citrus hops, with some pine and soap. Bit more soap in the taste, but that turns quickly into buttery hops and toasty malt. Not bad.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 popery (1014) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 1, 2010
Mediocre IPA. Coming from the brewer of some remarkable beers, this one is disappointing. The biggest problem is simply that it’s rather bland. The liquid is a bright gamboge with a rocky slightly off-white head. The aroma is mostly citric with some peaches, probably all from hops. The flavor is relatively dry but lacks any real depth. The hops just seem to fade away too quickly. There’s a bit of bright bitterness initially but the finish is weak and a bit watery. Caramel malt has some presence, but that flavor even gets a bit sour.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 cbfobes (1011) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - SEP 22, 2011
Poured from 12oz bottle, pours a very light clear golden with a thin soapy white head, aroma has a slight hop touch but it seems more musty with notes of skunk, the flavor is pretty much bland and boring with a finish of dirty water, this might be an old bottle or something, there’s nothing really here, pretty disappointed.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 portableparty (1007) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAY 13, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 17, 2011 Bottle to snifter. Crystal clear gold amber pour with nice soapy white head that fades to film. Aroma is lemon and faint grapefruit and grass. Taste has a subtle bitterness (pine) that finishes malty and bready. Palate is thin and chaulky with a dry finish. Goes down nice.
3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20 19Ei8hty (974) - Washington, USA - JAN 24, 2012
Clear deep straw body with orange highlights and a tall, billowing white head. Strong crystal malt backbone with some caramel notes. Sharp, piney hops with citrus zest and some biting resin. Very pleasant drink.
