Pours gold into the glass with a small white head. Aroma is full of citrus and grapefruit. Flavor is very assertive hops with a minimal malt presence. A bit unbalanced, but enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 twindadplus2 (515) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Bottle. Clear coppery golden color with a bright white, fizzy head. Light piney, perfumey hop aroma with some malt coming out as it warms. Taste is an immediate crisp hit of pine and a hint of sweet caramel malt in the background fading to a nice herbal bitter finish. On the high end of medium bodied with a creamy feel on the palate. A typical eye-opener of an IPA. Very nice.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 bblack99 (515) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - APR 10, 2010
Interesting brew, my first from Alaskan. Lots of aroma from the dry-hopping, pungent woody, earthy, and spicy hops. Flavor is actually fairly subdued, with a honey sweetness (not caramel, honey) and a soft hop presence. Good balance of sweet and ABV heat, but a little too sticky for my taste. This was my first Alaskan, and with Amber and Smoked Porter ’09 still in the backlog, I see room for improvement!

12oz bottle from ericandersnavy. Poured a clear, deep yellow body with a ring of head and good lacing. Aroma of piney hops and lightly sweet. Flavor is very bitter with an unbalanced malt profile.

Had this beer in the Anchorage airport. I don’t know about this one. I can see the direction the brewer was trying to go but the hop profile on this one is something I would love to know because while very bitter and at the appropriate level, something about the flavor of this beer was a bit harsh. A strong hit of pine that was pleasing at first but then became astringent. It’s almost as if there wasn’t enough malt to balance it all out. It left me wishing it was a more well rounded brew. I dunno good effort and wouldn’t turn it down, just don’t know if I would seek it out.

Bottle sampled at Alan’s HSC initiation, thanks Dogbrick: Aroma on this one is floral, tad of citrus rind. Resiny hop, some citrus, medium-bodied mouthfeel. Not too bad, but not all that memorable.
4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 ads135 (503) - Lawrence, USA - DEC 4, 2011
Clear golden pour. Fizzing head bubbles the resin and floral aroma into your face. The crisp, clean finish compliments its dry citrus taste. Tried in Juneau on tap at the waterfront. (3/23/2011) At 4 IGERT workshop.

(bottle) pale yellow colour; nice hoppy aroma with a bit of evergreens in it; rather austere, dry, hoppy and mineral flavour; long bitter and mineral finish. Underwhelming.
