Beerlando (1258), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 27, 2008 Pours a clear, golden amber body with a foamy, eggshell colored head. Fairly well retained, the foam leaves behind nice flares and spots of lacing. The nose is standard fare for an IPA, showing a toasted caramel and toffee malt background with bitter grapefruit and orange hops. Flavors were again fairly standard, with the citrus notes balanced quite well by the caramel malt sweetness. Medium bodied, smooth, and finishing on the dry and bitter side. Nothing fancy here, just a well executed, easy to drink IPA. Nice brew.
Gurst (312), Ann Arbor, Wisconsin, USA Aug 25, 2008 Citrus hops throughout, some flowers too. More on the mild than wild, but it turns it into a good session beer. Clean body, taste dissipates fairly quickly. Brewsmith (52), Torrance, California, USA Aug 19, 2008 From a 220z. bottle purchased locally. Aroma is pineapple and some citrus. Color is a clear gold with a half inch white head. Bitter with some toasty malt. A touch of malty sweetness, but only a little. Hop flavor is earthy and a little piney. Carbonation may be a touch too much, a little CO2 bite. Clean and dry with a little lingering bitterness and hop flavor. Not bad over all. buzzoven (116), Japan Aug 15, 2008 Bottle at Paley’s Place, Portland. Beautiful tawny tan colour. Aroma of creamed caramel, malts and corn. Smooth mouthfeel showcasing exquisite balance in it’s flavour. The slight bitter hint in the finish is excellent. A true classic IPA owing more to the UK style than monster hop bombs. jjpm74 (2899), Connecticut, USA Aug 15, 2008 Pours gold/amber with a white head. Smells of citrus and earthy. Tastes citrusy and nicely bitter with a grapefuit like finish. Nice! timfoolery (336), California, USA Aug 10, 2008 Bottle from Market of Choice in Ashland, OR. This IPA was not as piney or fruity as I’m used to. The citrus tasted a cross between lemons and limes with a little floral. Also, it was reasonably malty.
