4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap. Deep clear red, mocha head that lasts a little bit, malt, caramel, coffee, honey on the nose, big malts up front, roasted peanuts, fruity yeast, figs, medium carbonation. Smooth and creamy throughout, the alcohol comes out near the finish. Awesome beer.

3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours dark amber, almost porter dark, with solid head. Had on tap at the source in Junea on a brewery tour. Starts light and builds on finish which I like. Slightly boozy but wears it well. A good solid amber especially for an imperial which are tricky.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. Pours a reddish gold with a thin head and aromas of caramel, lemon and a little grassy herbal undercurrent. Flavor is big and bold with lots of juicy fruit flavors and a caramel-like backbone from the malt. ABV is a bit warm and this is simply a nice beer after a long day!

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
The 2.4 may be actually on the high side for my rating. Pours a nice red color and downhill after that. Bitter tasting beer that I could barely finish!

One bottle purchased at Sicilianos In Michigan, shoulda bought more! Pours a nice deep reddish brown, off white head. Aroma of citrus and malt. Intense, complex flavors. ABV is well hidden. This is a terrific brew, first I’ve had from Alaskan, hope to find it at Binnys.

As described, a beautiful deep ruby mahogany. Frothy white head. Bigger medium malty hoppy aroma. Balanced. Caramel. Bread. Red fruit. Pine. Tropical. Citrus. Flavor follows and adds some spiciness. Lighter full body. Touch of alcohol. Balanced, medium bitterness. I love reds and this is a good one.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap @ Alaskan Brewing Company. This one is smooth, bitter, complex, strong, bold. Looks great in the glass. Great balance of slightly roasted malts and strong hops to round it out.
