COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A native plant of North America, pumpkins were first used in beer in colonial America as a substitute for hard-to-find malt, and none other than the father of our country George Washington had a highly touted recipe. This imperial porter pumpkin beer combines the robust, full-bodied style of a porter with a, frankly, crazy amount of pumpkin.

Bottle at Cafe Abseits. Tasting. Dark brown beer lasting collar. Spicy aroma. Not over spiced but too spiced for me. Not for me

No retention and no lacing. Smells of chocolate and black licorice. Tastes of spices, nutmeg and chocolate. Not much of an aftertaste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Dexters, pours a dark brown with a thin tan head, the aroma was of potpourri and flowers, the spices were overpowering to me, the flavor was much of the same, I couldn’t get over the potpourri spice, flavor is really dry through out, especially in the finish, ugh.

Bottle: Dark brown pour with auburn edges. A finger of tan head dissipates quickly to leave a shiny surface. Nose is rather modest with spices, just a little nutmeg and cloves, light roast, and a doppelbock type sweetness. The taste emphasizes on porter, light roast and minimal sweetness. The pumpkin elements are faint and overshadowed by the sweetness of the brew. Must be the brown sugar. Picking up some faint yeast, but it works well with the cloves, roast, and overall sweetness of the beer. Cloves and yeast become more prevalent as it warms. Perhaps a little thin on the body. Overall an interesting beer.

From the 22 fl. oz. bottle stamped 20-A02114. I thought I was done with pumpkin brews for the year but then this one arrived from a friend (not a RB trader). The pour is a deep brown tone with ruby red hues and a thin, slightly lingering tan head. Aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, brown sugar, yeast, and caramel malts waft upward into my nose and make this highly appealing. The body is about medium and also creamy and smooth. The taste brings out the pumpkin spice, especially the cinnamon, beautifully with a smooth, yet dry briefly lingering finish. The best of both worlds. A Porter and a Pumpkin and it works well.

22 oz bottle- Pours black with red highlights in the light and a one finger tan head that holds settling with a nice creamy blanket. Aroma is pumpkin without even sticking my nose up to the glass, also pie spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The taste is nice and pumpkin, spices are there too, but you do really taste real pumpkin in this, much better than I was expecting, not too much roasted malt taste either which I think tends to overpower the pumpkin taste in some similar beers of this style. Very nice!

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a smallish light tan head on it. Nose has quite a lot of pumpkin coming through in there, with just a hint of come roasting underneath. Taste is a little sweet with just a hint of bitterness at the end from the roasting. Not my bag, but my wife loves it.

Pours a brownish orange color with a small off white head. Notes of agave syrup, squash, smoke, and chocolate.

Black pour with a thin foamy light khaki head. Nose is roasty with too much pumpkin spicing, like dark malty nutmeg and allspice. Flavor is kinda the same, mostly roasted black malts, a little cocoa, a little sweet earthy pumpkin, and a little too much nutmeg and allspice. A little too dry overall.
