COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A native plant of North America, pumpkins were first used in beer in colonial America as a substitute for hard-to-find malt, and none other than the father of our country George Washington had a highly touted recipe. This imperial porter pumpkin beer combines the robust, full-bodied style of a porter with a, frankly, crazy amount of pumpkin.

Bomber. Pours a dark opaque lack color with a small head. Nose is fabulous with pumpkin, nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice and chocolate. Taste is pure pumpkin with the autumn spices and sweet chocolate. Finishes on the same tasting notes. A delicious porter for the season. Quaff Score 9 / 10

Pours black with a tan head and aroma of pumpkin, spices, and roasted malt. Nice chocolate and roasted malt flavors with present pumpkin pie, spices - nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice, leading to a pumpkin spice, roasty finish. Delicious pumpkin porter, very tasty

Bottle:   Deep brown, ruby highlights, thin sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Assertive roasted malt nose, cinnamon, nutmeg, and faint clove follow.   Smooth on the tongue, roasted malts, lactose like sweetness, but mainly nutmeg and cinnamon.   Great balance for a Pumpkin Porter.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes spicy, cinnamon, nutmeg, soft roasted malts.   Clean, roasty, and very Pumpkin like.   Good beer!

I’m really getting tired of drinking pumpkin beers. This one isn’t standing out. Although it’s good, there’s nothing spectacular about it. Deep, dark brown in color, it’s more chocolaty than roasted, with lots of pumpkin meatiness in the aroma and flavor. some alcohol and notes of a liqueur surface as the beer warms. It’s soft and meaty in the mouth, with lightly roasted malts and cocoa powder present. But the underlying flavor of sweet squash is just a little too high for the beer, I think. It would be much better with more alcohol and less heft. Still, respectable.

Bomber, thanks brenn79. Aroma is roasty, pumpkin pie spices, raisins, molasses, chocolate. Pours an extremely dark brown, near black, with red highlights; has a beige head that falls fairly fast. Taste is sweet, spicy and savory. Has a licorice component to the flavor. Mouthfeel is a little oily, a little creamy; body is medium to full. Excellent pumpkin beer, exceeding my expectations. Addendum: I had to up my aroma score a point. It really opens up after a bit. A nice (above average) meaty pumpkin pie aroma, similar to Pumking, comes out after warming up a bit.

Dark brown color. Pears, dark fruit, odd aroma. Pumpkin really? Sweet briefly, messy after. Pass.
