COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A native plant of North America, pumpkins were first used in beer in colonial America as a substitute for hard-to-find malt, and none other than the father of our country George Washington had a highly touted recipe. This imperial porter pumpkin beer combines the robust, full-bodied style of a porter with a, frankly, crazy amount of pumpkin.

12 oz bottle from Evergreen Discount. Almost black appearance with a small, lingering tan head. Aroma of pumpkin spices, vanilla. cinnamon, nutmeg and dark malts. Similar flavor, smooth, malty and lightly sweet with mild spiciness. Medium body, creamy and pretty smooth. Iím not too big on pumpkin beers, but this one is pretty solid.

First of all, this isnít a porter. Is a dark ruby amber pour. Second, the taste is overly spicy, just like some other pumpkin beers. Itís ok, nothing to write home about.

Bottle. Clear dark reddish brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of pumpkin, caramel, allspice, and light toffee notes. Flavor is roasted malt, toffee, pumpkin, clove, cinnamon, and caramel. Medium bodied, smooth with a slightly dry end. Lingering spice.

Pours deep black with cocoa head. Huge spice aroma. Flavor b hits up front with those same spices but comes through with a nice roasted malt flavor as well. Spices on the finish.

Sweet. Heavy mouthfeel. Moderate pumpkin makes it a little too sweet. Not *too* much pumpkin. Smell is of pumpkin more than anything. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft. Dark brown. It is a typical porter (cocoa, coffee, roasted notes) with a nice bit of pumpkin and a good amount of spices. It is a more mature pumpkin beer than most and isnt too sweet or spicy.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 1/14/2015. Pours crystal clear nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, caramel, toast, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and herbal/spice earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with balanced dark/roasted malt, pumpkin, and spice notes; with solid strength. Taste of chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, toast, caramel, brown sugar, biscuit, pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and herbal/spice earthiness. Light earthy spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of chocolate, cocoa, light coffee, caramel, toast, brown sugar, pumpkin, cinnamon, allspice, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity and solid robustness of dark/roasted malt, pumpkin, and spice flavors; with a great malt/spice balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth and fairly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice pumpkin porter. Good balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt, pumpkin, and spice flavors; and very smooth to drink. I felt like the malt flavors should have been a bit more robust at 7%, but it was nicely enjoyable otherwise.

Pours a very dark brown to black with a decent sized khaki head that settles to a thinner ring and leaves some splotches of soapy lace. Nose involves some fleshy pumpkin, pie spices and dark sugars that almost mimic a Belgian Dubbel profile, along with some dark chocolate, some toasted notes, perhaps a hint of smoke, maybe some plums. Pretty sweet flavor, also decently bitter for balance. Medium bodied, pretty active, somewhat creamy, finishing toasty and toward dry with a prickly bitterness. Very nicely constructed brew, everything works together well.

Bottle. Taste is, of course, pumpkin, baking spices, autumn leafs, malt, caramel and wood. Nice.
