COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A native plant of North America, pumpkins were first used in beer in colonial America as a substitute for hard-to-find malt, and none other than the father of our country George Washington had a highly touted recipe. This imperial porter pumpkin beer combines the robust, full-bodied style of a porter with a, frankly, crazy amount of pumpkin.

Bottle. Pours an opaque brown-black with a high, solid, fine-grained cinnamon head. Nose is pumpkin, port wine, roastiness, vanilla, and surprisingly little spice; this is not necessarily a bad thing. On the tongue, it starts with Mexican chocolate and vanilla -- then here comes the pumpkin, and there’s a lot of it. My lord, the gourds; I like pumpkin in all its forms, and this beer delivers. Finish is long, and the spice shows up there a bit, along with more chocolate and coffee. The pumpkin, however, is the star of this show, and I want many encores.

Clear brown color with tan head. Fall spice, brown sugar, mild vegetal pumpkin aromas. light body, average carbonation. Brown sugar, fall spice flavors with mild chocolate, and maybe a little pumpkin as well----not bad.

I’m done with pumpkin beers. None of the dozens that I’ve tasted this year have been any good.

Pours dark brown, with a good tan head. Aroma of pumpkin and spice. Taste is more of malt, with typical porter notes, with pumpkin in the background. Smooth and well blended, very drinkable, thumbs up! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with a huge pillowy tan head. Smell is great gourdy pumpkin with a bunch of vanilla and cinnamon Taste is a bit of pumpkin seed and spices, bit of roasty porter. Light to medium bodied. Ok but I was expecting a really good one, kind of let down. Good beer.

Pours dark dark brown, almost black. with medium to large light brown head, minimally lasting. Very nice aroma; light chocolate, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spices, nice roastiness, It really projects but at the same time is modest and tasteful. Medium body. Creamy and silky smooth. Clean, moderate roastiness, pumpkin, balanced use of pie spices. Spices are not overdone. NOt overly sweet. Very nice finish. Not cloying. Really come together nicely. Great pumpkin beer.
