COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A native plant of North America, pumpkins were first used in beer in colonial America as a substitute for hard-to-find malt, and none other than the father of our country George Washington had a highly touted recipe. This imperial porter pumpkin beer combines the robust, full-bodied style of a porter with a, frankly, crazy amount of pumpkin.

Bomber, thanks brenn79. Aroma is roasty, pumpkin pie spices, raisins, molasses, chocolate. Pours an extremely dark brown, near black, with red highlights; has a beige head that falls fairly fast. Taste is sweet, spicy and savory. Has a licorice component to the flavor. Mouthfeel is a little oily, a little creamy; body is medium to full. Excellent pumpkin beer, exceeding my expectations. Addendum: I had to up my aroma score a point. It really opens up after a bit. A nice (above average) meaty pumpkin pie aroma, similar to Pumking, comes out after warming up a bit.

Bottle. Black pour with tan head. In spite of the claim of there being a crazy amount of pumpkin in this beer (perhaps it has faded somewhat since purchase), I found it to be more akin to a rich chocolatey porter with a hint of pumpkin in the finish. This is way more my style than the alternative.

Bottle. On the higher end of pumpkin beers for me. Big chocolate and coffee flavors dominate with subtle pumpkin notes. A great desert beer that isn't overly spiced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Originally rated on 9/23/14.Clear dark brown colored ale with a minimal ring of tan colored head. Aromas of strong pumpkin spices and roasted coffee. Starts out sweet and spicy with a strong flavor of pumpkin spice. Mostly spice (nutmeg allspice, ect) in taste, flavor doesn’t develop much from there, almost chemical like. Overall i thought i would like it better, its was just ’off’.

Very dark pour with clingy head. Smells fantastic. Really like the thickness and richness of the protest mixed with the slightly sweet pumpkin taste

12 oz. bottle. Poured a dark brown with a thin beige head. Taste of pumpkin, nutmeg, roasted malts, and chocolate. Average carbonation, medium body. A superb pumpkin porter!

Bottle from Breeze Thru. Brownish pour with little head. Aroma has allspice, light caramel and a touch of chocolate. Taste is of sweet caramel, tangy spices, and a bit of dark fruit. Medium bodied. Finishes sweetly allspice-y, with some length. This is much better and more well rounded than a typical pumpkin brew. Cannot grade it properly to do it justice. 14.3

Best by 01.14.15. Poured from a 12 oz into a beer can glass on 10.09.14. A: Lots of pumpkin, brown sugar, and chocolate. A: Fizz quickly recedes to a ring. Midnight black body with some red in the glass. T: Pumpkin and chocolate dominate. Brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a slight woodiness are subtle. P: Watery but it’s a porter. Nice fizzy bubbles on the tongue. Crisp. O: The head wasn’t great. but this a fantastic pumpkin porter.
