12 oz bottle- Pours hazy autumn orange with a thin white head. Aroma is bready, rye spicy, some sweet malt. The taste is Smooth, spicy rye bread, light malt, tropical fruits, mellow bitterness. Very drinkable, nice beer, I hope this becomes part of their regular lineup.

Tap at Republic. Hazy appearance. Surprisingly strong hops in the aroma. Sweetness in the flavor balanced by rye and tons of hops, something about this reminds me of Two Hearted. Full of flavor really, and loads of hopes.One of the most flavorful APAs I have ever had. Good.

On tap at Bailey’s Taproom. Pours a deep dark amber color with a small white head. A nice mellow spicy and earthy nose. The flavor has some aggressive hopping with light pine and spiciness from rye and the hops, light chocolate malt perhaps. Finishes sweet and earthy. Nice.

I bought a Howler of it at Liquor Shed.
A- it pours a clear bronze with a 2 finger head of fluffy foam, lacing is very good.
S- I get hoppy, fruity, spicy, toasted malt. Nice.
T- up front, toasted malt followed closely by a batch of different fruitiness, spice from the rye, and good old hop bitterness that APAs need to fit the(me) Bill. Yummy!
M- medium bodied with the carbo just below medium, this has one of the best mouthfeels I’ve ever encountered.
O- Alaskan hit a home run with this brew. I’ll be returning to get more!

American Pale Ales are known for showcasing American hop varietals and this brew focuses palates toward several classic, new, and even experimental hop types in convert with loamy and peppery flavors of malted rye, Summit and Magnum hops lend a sturdy hop backbone to this deep bronze-colored beer, while the new Calypso hops add bright fruit characters. Mosaic hops feature a floral essence and new, still unnamed experimental hop variety brings it all together with notes of blueberry and coconut.
A full crystal malt bill provides a backdrop of toasted bread-crust, toffee, and caramel notes to the complex hop aroma and flavor profile characterized by delicate hints of pear, apple, lavender, and tropical fruit. Malted rye adds a subtle spiciness to both the aroma and finish of this pale ale recipe.
Edit: Weird but I’ll be dag nabbed if I DON’T taste some hints of blueberry. :^)

Tap. Pours a clear dark gold body with a nice frothy tight bubbled beige head. The nose is an awesome mix of light spicy rye and tropical hops, very juicy and fresh smelling. The flavor is pretty well balanced between the rye and fruity hop notes. The calypso and mosaic hops really shine in this one. Finishes with some herbal and green leafy hoppiness and a slight spicy note. Lighter bodied and crisp with fizzy prickly carbonation and a lingering tropical finish. Really nice rye pale ale. Fresh and bright.

Draft: Poured an orange amber with white lacing head. Aroma is spice and bubblegum. Taste was smooth malts, light hops and a spice rye finish.

Growler. Clear amber with a small head. Aroma of citrus, caramel, rye and floral hops. Flavor is bitter hops, sweet caramel malt and some light spicy rye. Medium body with a slightly syrupy mouth feel. This is a good beer, the hops tasted and smelled very fresh and the rye added a nice spiciness.
