KawaBomber (111), New Jersey, USA May 14, 2008 Bottle: Brown w/ a brown head. Wonderful smoky aroma, but that’s it for aroma. Flavor is very smoky w/ some roasted malt in the background. After some warming. Well...it tastes the same. railcat1 (402), The Region-10 Minutes from FFF#1, Indiana, USA May 14, 2008 I have had this for a while and finally decided to drink it it poured a nice dark brown with a tan head and a nice smoked flavor,I am a fan of these beers and i enjoyed this one with flavors of wood and roasted malts.CHEERS! PilsnerPeter (1214), Flushing, New York, USA May 12, 2008 Bottle 2002 at Paul’s Hoboken Gathering: Deep brown pour with some amber in the light and a tan ring for head. Nose has a rich smoke presence. Meaty aroma with some peat and dark chocolate. Slightly watery feel. The flavor has a great blend of chocolate, smoked wood and roasted malts. The finish is long and smoke-filled. Nice stuff, and I’m surprised the Smokiness has held up for 6-years. I wanna try it fresh and perhaps give it a better score. Funknmilla (448), Absecon, New Jersey, USA May 8, 2008 Bomber bottle...opague dark brown with a light brown sugar head...smoked gouda aroma--pungent....smoky smoky and good...only problem is not much else is showing through...I get some dark roasty malts...and a bitter coffee/toffee but it takes a minute to register....ok letting it warm up a bit....44 minutes later its basically the same, very overbearing in the smoke department, a bitterness(very mild)in the finish..this would be great with a smoked gouda and bologna and cheese sandwich...just in general...a food paring with this beer should be had...like a spoonful of red raspberry preserves...whoo hoo! Rciesla (165), Brick City, New Jersey, USA May 7, 2008 Bottle. Probably the best smoked porter i’ve had. Dark black pour. Flavor is chocolate, smoke, malt, bacon. Mmmm bring on the BBQ.
