12 oz. bottle. As I was walking to computer this morning droped the bottle on tile floor and two cats scattered, good thing didn’t drop the beer and break the Spotted cow pint glass my mom just sent me. Anyway, aroma was sweet barley grain and some coffee. Black body with tan head. Thought this would thicken up seeing had to clean up broken bottle first but no luck here. Carbination cola sweet bitter and thin body texture. Some coffee flavor but nothing more to write home about for me in this brew.

[438-20070725] 355mL (w/ jerc, tuqueboy). Light sweet currant malt aroma. Dark black brown body with a quick foamy tan head. Muted malty sweet flavour. Full body. Nicer blending than its brother porter but not impressively.

Sweet malt aroma, light roast with a hint of smoke that may be from the beer or still stuck to the glass from the Alaskan Porter sampled prior. Surpisingly bitter flavour was unexpected, with a health dose of underlying roast and very bitter dark chocolate. Average palate is thin for a stout. Interesting, but not their best. 6/3/6/3/12

Toasted malt nose, pitch black color, spongy tan head. Roasted malt body with a light note of dark bitter chocolate. Coffee bitter end with a lingering grittiness. Medium body. Good balance. Heary, smooth, classy. Nice one.

Bottle... Poured a black hue with a brown head that disapated quickly. Roasted malt aroma. Chalky palate with flavors of mocha, toffee, vegetables, malt and earthy hops to balance it. Not bad, far from the best.

UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 Bottle. pours dark brown / black, with a moderate dark brown head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, a hint of fruit, and a hint of alcohol; moderately sweet. Flavor is similar but a bit weaker: roasty and a bit woody up front, moving to some moderately sweet caramel and vanilla in the middle, and a lingering smooth finish. Velvety smooth oatmeal-stout-ish mouthfeel. Pretty good, though the flavor could be more robust.
