COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The unique blend of the oats and malts in Alaskan Stout produce a balanced, smooth beer with hints of chocolate, coffee and caramel.

Poured black with a thin tan head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt and a touch of coffee. Flavor was sweet with chocolate, roasty goodness, and a touch more coffee.

Small 12 oz. glass bottle. Beer poured into Corsendonk Christmas glass a very dark brown/ red liquid, almost black, opaque, with little or no head that dissipates quickly to nothing. The aroma is roasted, nutty, malty molasses, cloyingly sweet, almost sickly sweet, hinting of poison. The beer has a watery mouthfeel, not chewy, but clean, with a burnt toffee flavor that is overly sweet with noticable black licorice/ molasses character. Drinking an entire bottle of this becomes increasingly sweet, and sickly at that. Sampled heavily chilled, at refrigerator temperature. Source: All thanks to my buddy, Brandon, whose wife’s boss travels a lot and picked this up while in Alaska.

A little light on body and flavor, I would have liked this to be a little darker and ticker. Yet, it’s a decent, well rounded beer. This could be an "every day" stout.

Thanks to DarkElf for this beer.

Poured black with a small fizzy brown head. Metallic chocolate aroma. Flavor is some mild chocolate and bitter roasted coffee, touch of acidity, with a long bitter dry finish. This doesn’t have nearly the flavor profile to support the dryness. The carbonation in the body is somewhat biting, and the body itself is average. Not very smooth, but an ok stout.

Bottle. Looks like my notes say "Deep brown, N.H., thick. Nice Stout." Can’t say I remember much more about this than that. I do remember enjoying it though?

On draft at the Fancy Moose, Anchorage, 7/6/05. Ironically served in a Bud Light glass. Nice creamy tan head. No real aroma and only light flavor characteristics: just a wisp of smoke, peat and light bitterness.

Bottle. Pours dark ( ... like a stout ... ) with no head to speak of. It raises it head a tiny bit when coerced. Good aroma of chocolate, some vanilla and toffee. Rather gritty mouthfeel which is very roasty with malts and dark chocolate. If it begins with roasted malts, then it finishes with even more roastiness, and a little dryness. In the world of sweet stouts, this one comes in just a bit above average.

bottle at the Freakin’ Frog, had a load of coffee scents coming off the black body, along with a little bit of floral hops. a creamy tan head topped the brew off, and faded down to a lacing that layered the sides of the glass. flavor was strong with expresso, tempered by some chocolate and toffee. the mouthfeel was rather thick, and transitioned nicely from a sweetness into an unsweetened coffee taste that lingered behind. again, its quite unfortunate for me that i have no access to this locally.
