Dark, nearly opaque black with a thin tan head. Subtle roasty dark chocolate aroma. Starts sweet, lightly caramely and slightly oxidized with a touch of butterscotch. Still a nice and enjoyable sweet stout. Thanks to kp for sharing at the Noogfest!
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 beeryum (652) - Norcross, Georgia, USA - JUN 22, 2005
Bottle, labeled "Oatmeal stout". Dark black pour. Dark malty aroma with fruity notes. Sweet malty flavors, some fruitier notes, not dark fruit, and some chocolate.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 heemer77 (4754) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUN 22, 2005
A black body with no head. The aroma had bourbom, vanilla, pears and cinnamon. I think I got a whiff of smoke. The taste was sweet brown sugar with pears and a hint if chocolate.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Suttree (3765) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUN 21, 2005
Black, with a dark tan head. Prunish, sherryish aroma. First taste is really fruity - raisin, most likely - with note sweet chocolate and coffee to follow.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 pinkzambia (1155) - Boise, Idaho, USA - JUN 18, 2005
Bottle: Enjoyed this brew at 55 degrees farenheit. Compliments of Indiana_Red. The Alaskan Stout we tasted had an older label and at the bottom says "Oatmeal stout." I am not a big fan of Oatmeal stouts, but this beats the British classic Young’s in my mind. It poured with a minimal head resulting with soft carbonation. Dark in color with thin lacing. Roasted malts and light hops present. It had the expected thin, oily texture with a half and half mix of an metallic and astringent finish. Other flavors that stood out to me were charcoal followed by a cardboardy aftertaste.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 SDalkoholic (1490) - Chula Vista, California, USA - JUN 7, 2005
Thin fluffy layer of head across a blackish brown colored stout. The aroma is a roasty chocolate malt with a little coffee in the nose. It lacks a strong delivery, but it has a smooth and easy going chocolate and roasted malt flavoring. Could barely notice the oat and there is a possible chance of bitter hops as well. Also a little creamy, although i would still consider this another "okay" stout for a one time drink.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (3998) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 25, 2005
Bottle: Coffee black, ruby hues, thin beige head, decent lacing.   Sweet & sour aroma, somewhat lactic, a bit of black coffee and very bittersweet chocolate.   Lactic like sourness to start, bittersweet chocolate ending, with a touch of unsweetened coffee.   Moderate body and mouthfeel, not as thick or heavy as I would have expected.   Lingering hop bite on the finish, fairly sourish especially well after the finish.   No my idea of a good sweet stout.
