3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 eruizgarcia (116) - - SEP 30, 2012Clear predominant coffee aroma and hints of chocolate on a surprisingly light bodied easy to drink beer. Malty and sweet but not to much. A bit watery for a stout, but not bad.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 rbrazell (1013) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAY 19, 2013
Thanks to Andres and Brittany! Deep brown, almost black pour with a creamy head. Aroma of Whoppers, oatmeal and roasted malts. Light chocolate and roasted malt flavor with oat sweetness and a dusty crisp ending. Easy drinking stout. Not bad.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 LethalDose (3) - - MAY 11, 2013 does not count
Smokey and chocolatey. Mouthfeel is a little sharp but softens. Smooth finish to the bottom of the bottle.
2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 fezzy (50) - California, USA - MAY 2, 2013
Balanced roasted malt with mild bitter cocoa on the finish, smoothed by oatmeal behind the profile. My bottle pours with low very low carbonation; not sure if this is just correct for the style, or that I cellared this for a couple of years and it lost carbonation. Very, very dark brown, near-black, close to opaque. Very drinkable, due to balance hopping, and tasty, but lacking in complexity. Which isn’t inappropriate for the style, just nothing out of the ordinary for a decent stout here.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Mora2000 (4111) - McKinney, Texas, USA - MAY 1, 2013
Reviewed from notes. Thanks to someone (5000?) for sending this bottle. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma is chocolate with some roasted malt and oats. Flavor is light smoke with some nice chocolate. Very dry. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.
1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20 crossovert (4760) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 24, 2013
Not one of the better oatmeal stouts out there. Tangy, astringent, light roast, lgiht caramel.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Fatehunter (793) - Corbett, Oregon, USA - APR 6, 2013
Poured a thick two fingers of tan head on a black body.
The aroma is great: roasted malt and chocolate.
The taste follows suit but with a mild bitter bite at the end.
The texture is smooth and soft with moderate carbonation.
It hits all the notes for the style with an added extra bitterness.
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (4035) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 5, 2013
From the April 2013 3R6P beer tasting. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small brown head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was sweet chocolate, faint coffee, vanilla and a touch of smoke and port wine. The flavor was dry, bitter, roasty and smoky with a bit of coffee. Medium length dry, roasty and smoky finish. Medium body. Eh.
4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 BeerKurve (232) - - MAR 25, 2013
Pitch Black Color with a Very Brown Head. Sweet aroma of oatmeal, milk chocolate, malts and barley. Flavor is a sweet mix of chocolate, oatmeal, coffee and malts. Excellent stout overall and definitely one of my favor beers I’ve had in a while
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oscbert (896) - Sacramento, California, USA - MAR 18, 2013
~Mild coffee like roasted grain aroma with sweet milk
~Pours black with quickly disappearing brown head.
~Sweet nutty bready flavor balanced with roasted coffee.
~Medium bodied with medium high CO2. Lasting bitter coffee finish.
~Enjoyable oatmeal stout. Could drink a lot of these, but nothing really stands out making this better than other oatmeal stouts.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Imaena (1066) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - FEB 2, 2013
Bottle. An average stout that works just fine but does nothing special. Like the Honda Civic of stouts.
