On tap. Just start by saying Iím absolutely in love with this brew (as if the numbers didnít show it haha). Very lovely appearance, slightly tan head with decent retention, very dark black/brown. Fruity aroma, no noticeable hops, slightly sweet. Fruity flavor with a whiskey flavor finish, once again no hops and very little bitterness. Medium body, low carbonation, very smooth. Gonna have to finish this keg off myself.

Dark dark brown, with a small head consistent with the style, slightly roasted aroma, starts bitter, then the roasted flavor and aroma pick up with hints of chocolate, low bitterness at the end.

Alaskan does dark beer well. This stout is dry, chocolately, with a bit of caramelly sweetness. Tried first in Juneau (3/23/2011) on tap at the waterfront.

Very dark black with a tan head, good carbonation and medium mouth feel, starts milky sweet then adds chocolate, and later cereal-like qualities from the oats.

I am a dark beer fanatic, and this is simply the best stout that I have ever consumed in the United States.

Apparently Iím supposed to fill this out. Take the numbers that I put down with a grain of salt if you will, but Iím just your average NW beer junkie looking to sample as many different brews as possible.

Mild chocoltae aroma, full silky smooth middlewith a slight roasted flavour to finish. This is really good!! Sweet, but the chocolate/sweet malt flavours are not overpowering. It reminds me of a cross between McAuslan Stout and a Sam Smith Oatmeal. Great flavour and balance. Alaskan has to be one of the most underated breweries in the world.

12 oz bottle. This beer pours to an ink black color, with a thick, dense, creamy tan head, and a soft carbonation. The nose on this beer is excellent, with lots of good aromas of bitter sweet chocolate, coffee, dark malts, and light roast. The palate is soft and full, with a really great silky and creamy mouth feel. Flavors of dark malt, dark chocolate, coffee, and light roasty flavor, glide over the tongue. This beer finishes with more of those wonderful dark chocolate and coffee flavors up front, then ends with some nice, herbal hop bitterness, and roasty flavor that lingers. Well done sweet/oatmeal stout, with good chocolate and coffee flavors. The oats in this beer gives this beer really good body and a creamy mouthfeel. Alaskan Brewing scores again.

Bottle. Black pour with brown/thick head. Very sweet smell with roasted malts. Tastes like a sweeter stout. Very creamy and drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
