Bottle. "Oatmeal Stout" Pours black with thin tan head, reduces to lacing. Aroma is chocolately and sweet. Flavor is okay, nothing too complex or exciting, but pretty good. Definitely a sweet stout, but roasted malts come through in the end. Seems a bit thin. Decent.

A little weak in the knees and boring for a stout. Nice balance and easy to drink though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 AWISLguy (322) - Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2012
Bottle from Woodmans in the Falls. Pours cola brown with a 1" tan head, and some lacing that hung around for a while. Aroma has caramel and oatmeal with some expresso. Taste brings sweet caramel, rum raisin and chocolate milky with a vanilla hint. Quite sweet, a bit thin. Finishes medium length and sweet with an alcohol presence. More of the oatmeal would have given it more body and depth.

Pretty decent stout. Dark pour. 5.7% alcohol. Smooth with malty, chocolate, coffee, nutty overtones and a somewhat bitter finish. Nowhere near as complex as the best of the breed, but a pleasant brew with no unfortunate characteristics.
